My friend, one look at the photography of your beautiful church on your web site makes it clear that it should have a page on Wikipedia. There is no question justifying it, because it is on the Register of Historical Places, and we try to have articles for all the buildings there.

But unfortunately the present page cannot be used because of our copyright policy--our material is all available to anyone for any use under the GFDL license as stated on our page, and the copyright on your material undoubtedly belongs to your church. Quite obviously you are letting use it, but you must also be willing to either place it in the public domain, or license it explicitly. This can be done in two ways--either you can place a GFDL license on the web page for the history of your church, or you can follow the exact procedure in WP:Copyright for donating material to use. All the formal steps are necessary.

We'd love to use the picture, and the same method applies. You upload the picture separately ,and make the link to it according to WP:Images. You indicate the GFDL license on the image description page.as described there.

In any case, the material will be edited, to give the proper style for an encyclopedia, which is somewhat different from the form your you own website. It needs some reference beyond your website--some published book or article or story published in a third party reliable source describing the church. Online is best, but print is fine--we'll need you to add the reference.

I'm one of the many administrators here, and feel free to ask me on my talk page if there are any questions. I'll keep an eye on the article, but any editor may remove material which can be shown to be in apparent violation of copyright.
