Nice choice of redirect. I indicated I didn't think one would be necessary precisely because I know there are a number of Batman film projects and didn't see a good way of choosing just one. The list you chose works nicely. Erechtheus 00:17, 27 August 2007 (UTC)
Repost of Zeitgeist Conspiracy Movie
editHello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Zeitgeist Conspiracy Movie, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Zeitgeist Conspiracy Movie was previously deleted as a result of an articles for deletion (or another XfD)
To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Zeitgeist Conspiracy Movie, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. Re User:Chriskruk -- apologies, I moved too fast and reverted you. It's in your hands, and thanks for taking charge of the situation. Accounting4Taste 04:58, 31 August 2007 (UTC)
- (belly laugh) Yeah, I was being a janitor and sweeping away. Although I think it's more like playing "Whack-A-Mole" at the fairgrounds -- you whack one, two more pop up to take its place. Cheers! Accounting4Taste 05:11, 31 August 2007 (UTC)
Moving Atricles without forethought
editYou moved several of my articles, apparantly without a full inderstanding the underlying structural philosophy.
Articles should be unambiguously named, and properly qualified, for *internal* use by the Wikipedia software.
ReDirects are for taking the user entries in the Search Box to the properly named article.
Even if only ONE article on a topic exists, it should be given a proper name (unambiguous and qualified) to distinguish it from any FUTURE articles that may be written. If and when any such future article is written, the redirect page can easily converted to a disambiguation page.
Suppose there is an article about Joe's Toes, named "Joe" because it is the only article and can't be confused with anything else.
Now add more articles about Joe's BodyParts: Fingers, Ears, Arms, Legs, and Feet. What are you going to call them???? How are you going to organize them, or distinguish between them?
Suppose, on the other hand, that the original article was titled "Joe's Toes", and was the object of a REDIRECT titled "Joe". Just ONE article with a long and complicated name that is accessed by the nickname "Joe" (the redirect). Adding the articles "Joe's Fingers", "Joe's Ears", "Joe's Arms", "Joe's Legs", and "Joe's Feet" poses no problem at all. AND the redirect becomes a disambiguation page to direct the user to Joe's BodyPart of interest.
Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
