Matisyahu

edit
  • First of all, I don't delete "everything" about Matisyahu, in fact, I've put in quite a few hours improving the page. I take out link spam and nonsense so that it's a good encyclopedia article. Second, try and be more polite please, Wikipedia is a collaborative effort, you may want to read this guideline. Finally, Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also click on the signature button   located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! -- Chabuk T • C ] 20:36, 14 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

  • The reason I've removed your links is because wikipedia has standards for what kind of links can be put in the "External Links" section of articles. Personal websites that are unverifiable and contain content with questionable copyright status are not eligible. For more information, you can check out the policy on External Links. Also, I've added at the top of this page a welcome message for you, it has some pretty helpful links if you're going to be around Wikipedia. -- Chabuk T • C ] 22:26, 14 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
  • As I'm sure you know, videos on YouTube are notorious for breaking copyright law, and some of the ones embedded/linked to on your site may fall into that category. Second, fan sites, as a general rule, are not included in the external links section unless they are independently notable (ie. have been given recognition by the artist, are groundbreaking in some way, etc), in addition, they rarely introduce any information not otherwise available, thus making them redundant. Third, if there are other editors who agree with you, please feel free to have them indicate so on the article talk pages. In addition, attributed or not, those articles are not yours to distribute. Regarding the Internet archive of live shows, that has nothing to do with your site's notability, as the archive is already linked to on his main article. -- Chabuk T • C ] 00:20, 18 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
  • You're right, I hadn't noticed those sites, I've removed them as well. In terms of your site supposedly being a "Matisyahu fan heaven", no offence, but I'm a pretty big fan (have all his cd's, plus a bunch of unreleased promo discs, etc) and your site is just a blog that collects some matis news from elsewhere. A simply google search for matisyahu would bring up the same results. -- Chabuk T • C ] 18:13, 18 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
