Dear Wikipedia Team,
I understand your concern regarding the addition of external links to the “Panch Kedar” pageand i agree that that's look like a spam. However, I would like to clarify that my intention is not to spam or promote any site. When I add citation links to pages such as “Bhang Ki Chutney,” “Kumaoni Raita,” “Chainsoo,” “Aloo ke Gutke,” “Harsil,” “Jhangora Ki Kheer,” and “Dodital,” I always provide a proper reason and reference from trusted website that promote Uttarakhand tourism. All these edits I do under Wikipedia’s guidelines.
It is perplexing that these links were removed suddenly after 1-2 months without any explanation. If these links were indeed considered spam, then why they should have been removed immediately when i edit that. I believe there might have been a misunderstanding in this instance.
I assure you that my goal is to contribute valuable and accurate information to Wikipedia, and I am not promoting any site for personal gain. I hope you can reconsider the removal of these links.
Thank you for your understanding. Harshsahani8851 (talk) 17:48, 30 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
The link does not appear to satisfy our reliable source criteria. It looks like a blog. You have spent the last couple of months pretty doing very little other than adding this link. If you're only goal is to add these links, then that is considered spamming. Just because nobody noticed does not mean that it is acceptable. If your goal really is to improve the encyclopedia, then please start using more reliable sources. Apparition11 Talk/Contribs 21:40, 30 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
Got it, I understand the importance of adding more relevant and reliable information to Wikipedia rather than just links. The highlighted links are indeed blogs, which were chosen because they were written by travelers who had firsthand experience of the locations. However, I recognize that Wikipedia values reliability and verifiability, so moving forward, I'll focus on using more credible sources to enhance the encyclopedia with substantial content.   You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you insert a spam link, as you did at Khirsu. Persistent spammers may have their websites blacklisted, preventing anyone from linking to them from all Wikimedia sites as well as potentially being penalized by search engines. I apologize for adding the link. I understand the guidelines now and assure you it won’t happen again. From now on, I will only add relevant information to Wikipedia without including any links. I added the link because I thought it was important to show the source of the information. I appreciate your understanding and will adhere to the rules moving forward. Once again really really sorry. You do need to show the source, but the information has to come from a reliable source. You've now added that link 10 times including once after assurances that you wouldn't again... It's obvious that you have some connection to this blog, and if you add it again, you will likely be blocked and if the link continues to get added after that, it will likely be blacklisted. Content should be cited, but it should be cited to reliable sources. Apparition11 Talk/Contribs 08:14, 7 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
Yes, you’re right. I’m sure it’s not going to happen again. Harshsahani8851 (talk) 15:42, 8 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
