Montanelli biography edit

Clearly you want to push your narrative and delete relevant facts, that have been always sourced. In light of the current news discussion, it is important to highlight the past racist stances of the journalist Indro Montanelli. And it is despicable to delete the fact Montanelli bought and married a 12-year-old girl. Do you want to cancel history or re-write it? You listed in the introduction a numbers of Montanelli's journalists friends that sided and justified his actions. Are these facts or opinions? It is really odd you want to delete facts. Hello Vale. I didn’t add anything of the sort to the introduction, nor did I remove anything. I merely moved the facts and the long winded explanation of them to the ‘Controversy’ section, where they belong. The fact that 4 people so far by my count have tried to remove or shorten the sentences you put in the introduction indicate that they do not belong there. What does belong there is a sentence or two saying a statue of him was vandalised because he was perceived to be racist and fascist by some. And as part of a summary of his life the fact that he was in Abyssinia, where he ‘married’ a 12-year old; and that he was inclined towards fascism at that time. It is incidentally absolutely relevant that other contemporary journalists (by no means his friends!) said his statue should say in the context of the dispute, just as it’s relevant what the vandals claim were the reasons for their actions Haltendehand (talk) 19:47, 17 June 2020 (UTC)Reply
