Unconstructive 3RR

edit

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24-hour period. Additionally, users who perform several reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. When in dispute with another editor you should first try to discuss controversial changes to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. Should that prove unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection. Please stop the disruption, otherwise you may be blocked from editing. — Chad1m Email Talk Cont. 22:40, 19 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

I placed the warning on your page because I explained why I removed your additions twice. When we add a lot of extraneous information to an article, the Wiki admins get annoyed, calling it "fancruft." It has happened in other articles I've worked on (PlayMania, for one). I removed it because it doesn't add any more to the article and simply clogs it up. You also added incorrect information, saying that the entries hang out for two weeks, when the official rules state they only hang around for one. If you need anything else cleared up, please let me know. Thanks! — Chad1m Email Talk Cont. 01:28, 20 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

  • Adding the phone or cellular phone thing is fine, I think. The impersonation part, though, is a bit too descriptive since it covers a situation that is probably rare to happen and falls under the fancruft issue I mentioned earlier. I also apologize for not assuming good faith and/or coming of as possibly hostile. All additions are welcome as long as they're accurate and necessary. :) — Chad1m Email Talk Cont. 04:54, 20 April 2009 (UTC)Reply
