Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but your recent edit removed content from Wave power. When removing content, please specify a reason in the edit summary and discuss edits that are likely to be controversial on the article's talk page. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the content has been restored, as you can see from the page history. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia, and if you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you.   Thank you for your contributions. Please remember to mark your edits as "minor" only if they truly are minor edits. In accordance with Help:Minor edit, a minor edit is one that the editor believes requires no review and could never be the subject of a dispute. Minor edits consist of things such as typographical corrections, formatting changes, or rearrangement of text without modification of content. Additionally, the reversion of clear-cut vandalism and test edits may be labeled "minor". Thank you. Crowsnest (talk) 16:07, 6 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

Welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that the username you have chosen (Greenheatman) seems to imply that you are editing on behalf of a group, company or website.

There are two issues with this:

  1. It is possible that you have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, you must exercise great caution when editing on topics related to your organization or adding links to its website.
  2. Your account cannot represent a group of people. You may wish to create a new account with a username that represents only you. Alternatively, you may consider changing your username to avoid giving the impression that your personal account is being used for promotional purposes.

Regardless of whether you change your name or create a new account, you are not exempted from the guidelines concerning editing where you have a conflict of interest. For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. The article in question is Wave power. Thank you. Repeated additions of "Greenheat" content to Wave power, even after reverts and warnings. E8 (talk) 18:18, 6 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

This is your last warning. The next time you use Wikipedia for soapboxing, promotion or advertising, as you did at Wave power, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. E8 (talk) 19:45, 6 April 2012 (UTC) Whereas I understand now that by actually mentioning Gentec WaTS in the wave energy page is embarrassing to the other 'technology advertisers' who do not cite their outputs of around 5kW(e) per metre for a very good reason and hide behind nom de plumes like E8 and the 'scary' Danger who all probably have vested interests in keeping the technology advertising on the page. The last thing that these anonomous editors want is a mere mention of a system that generates over 50 times more power at 255kW(e)/m as opposed to a pathetic 5kW(e)/m. Don't worry, Gentec WaTS is already all over the internet anyway and the days of these feeble 'real time' WECs are numbered. Carry on blocking any content that challenges the status quo if you like - everybody is already laughing their sock off at snakes the size of freight trains that have a MECHANICAL baseplate rating of 750kW(m) but only generate at a rather pathetic 5kW(e)/mReply

Multiple accounts

edit

Hello Greenheatman and welcome to Wikipedia. Your editing pattern indicates that you may be using multiple accounts or coordinating editing with people outside Wikipedia. Our policy on multiple accounts usually does not allow this. If you operate multiple accounts directly or with the help of another person, please remember to disclose these connections. Crowsnest (talk) 10:53, 13 April 2012 (UTC) I apologise unreservedly for my intellect that makes you think that I am operating 'with people outside Wikipedia' I am not. The fact that you think that I am not alone tells me all I need to know!Reply

Greenheatman (talk) 13:47, 13 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

First of all I was quite happy with my Greenheatman account and I was instructed to get another account because the name 'implied' that I was representing a 'group of people' Please explain your reasoning for this. Had my account name been GreeheatMEN you may have had a valid point. I am operating alone and all content is ALL OF MY OWN WORK - are we there yet. I realise that my brilliance may suggest a dozen or so professors working in collaboration with me but there is none. Get over it!

This account has been blocked indefinitely from editing Wikipedia because your username, Greenheatman, does not meet our username policy.

Your username is the only reason for this block. You are welcome to choose a new username (see below).

A username should not be promotional, related to a "real-world" group or organization, misleading, offensive, or disruptive. Also, usernames may not end in the word "bot" unless the account is an approved bot account

You are encouraged to choose a new account name that meets our policy guidelines. Alternatively, if you have already made edits and you wish to keep your existing contributions under a new name, then you may request a change in username by:

  1. Adding {{unblock-un|your new username here}} on your user talk page. You should be able to do this even though you are blocked, as you can usually still edit your own talk page. If not, you may wish to contact the blocking administrator by clicking on "E-mail this user" on their talk page.
  2. At an administrator's discretion, you may be unblocked for 24 hours to file a request.
  3. Please note that you may only request a name that is not already in use, so please check here for a listing of already taken names. The account is created upon acceptance, thus do not try to create the new account before making the request for a name change. For more information, please see Wikipedia:Changing username.
If you feel that you were blocked in error, you may appeal this block by adding below this notice the text {{unblock|Your reason here}}, but you should read our guide to appealing blocks first.
