Welcome, and thank you for experimenting with the page Bangkok on Wikipedia! Your test worked, and thank you for reverting or removing it yourself. The best way to do tests in the future would be to use the sandbox. You can look at these pages as well: how to edit a page, the tutorial, and how to write a great article. All of these pages are good places to start. Again, welcome, and I hope that you will like Wikipedia. Xiner (talk, email) 18:30, 1 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Rocky

edit

Hi, you reverted statement that rocky was the greatest ever, some other guy is reverting that, I believe that statement should stay there, it was there for a long long time, also movie Rocky was not made after Rocky M, but it was to a certain point it was inspired by that fighter. And wow, latest rocky movie, the computer fight, ali-rocky, who else, so this is clear indication rocky m has his fingerprints all over rocky movies.

I'm not sure why we're discussing this here, but whatever. The movie Rocky was inspired by the Ali-Wepner fight. The only similarity between the movie and Marciano was that they were both Italian heavyweights. As far as Marciano being the greatest HW or one of the greatest, that is certainly debatable. Historians generally rate Ali and Louis as the best, with a variety of other fighters below. If you want to say Marciano is the greatest, then produce some credible source to back it up. You can't just say he's the greatest -- that's inserting your opinion in the article which is not allowed. MKil 17:09, 11 January 2007 (UTC)MKilReply

Rocky movie was inspired after Wepner, true enough, to make the movie, we all agree, the name and the title comes after marciano who was tough as nails and also any boxing historian (good ones) will rate rocky in top 10. Rocky title is inspiration, name itself is championic and sounds tough. Also, do not put words into my mouth, this statement was here since 2004 AND IT CLEARY SAYS ONE OF THE GREATESTS, NO SUCH THING AS THE GREATEST, READ AND THINK FIRST BEFORE REPLYING.

Please provide evidence that the movie Rocky was inspired by Marciano. The story was clearly inspired by Wepner. The character of Rocky in the movie has little resemblance to Marciano appart from ethnicity and name. The name "Rocky" was also shared by fighters like Rocky Graziano and Rocky Kansas. As far as Rocky being great, it's true that he is usually listed fairly high. However, if you want to say that Rocky is one of the greats, find a source for it. You can't just assert this opinion and expect it to stand. And who cares if it dates from 2004? If an opinion is inserted into a Wikipedia article then it can be removed, regardless of how long it has been there. MKil 19:38, 11 January 2007 (UTC)MKilReply

There were many, many more rockies... Simple evidence is this... superfight rocky vs ali, same concept was user in a rocky movie. Again, I will remove inspired by rocky but will add partially inspired, also, i suggest you stop vandalizing this page.

That's not evidence. Name one other thing in any Rocky movie that has anything to do with Marciano. The movie wasn't even partially inspired by Marciano. Until you give me something like a quote from him, then I'm taking it out because it isn't true. And what I'm doing isn't "vandalism." I'm simply making sure the article is accurate. You insist on inserting items in the article that simply aren't true. You may want to read other articles in Wikipedia to get an idea about what is opinion and what is fact. The items you insert are not factually accurate. Furthermore, why are we having this discussion here? I'm moving it to the Rocky Marciano talk page.MKilMKil

Accurate? Yea, but you revert all other stuff too. The following has been written by Chuck Johnson in USA today: "The plot centers on an aging Balboa still feeling he has something to prove when a computer fight, pairing champions from different eras, declares him the winner over the current champion. Stallone copied the computer fight idea from one between Muhammad Ali and Rocky Marciano in 1970. "After all the data was put into the computer, Marciano won by a 13th-round knockout, and that proceeded to create a lot of uproar among fans," Stallone says. "We wanted to duplicate that." I need nothing more to add. May be this will shut your ignorant ways? Also read on talk page there on rocky movie. Not all things in life are black and white, you are not realistic.

Amazing, reverting over greatest on marciano

edit

This guy keeps on inverting info about rocky, as one of the greatest, i never said he was, i said something else, also included 2 links with interviews, see that word stays here, again nobody is greatest, impossible to say. Different time eras. But perfect record speaks for itself, he beat the best of his times.
