Mediation? edit

Oh Bretagne 44. What prompted you to rush to this without informing the rest of us? Cowardly tactics! You just revealed that you have no sources to support your arguments. Why else would you secretly take action? GrandfatherJoe 21:28, 26 September 2005 (UTC)Reply

GrandfatherJoe You really are a sad case are'nt you mmmm? I have asked for mediation because you have acted as nothing but an abusive bully and you have shown nothing but double standards Bretagne 44 15:47, 27 September 2005 (UTC)Reply

I most certainly am not an abusive bully. That still doesn't change the procedures for Wikipedia:Mediation. Have you read them yet? All I ever did was to question the facts; I never edited the article. What is wrong with me questioning your sources? Are you telling me that you are so unbelievably arrogant that you reject any possibility that you may have been mislead? As for the English populations, I gave my views. GrandfatherJoe 16:07, 27 September 2005 (UTC)Reply

As to you abusive nature i will let others make up their own minds after reading what you have writen on the talk page of the Cornish people page.

So GrandfatherJoe, aside from your insults, are you saying that 50 million people in England are English? The total population of England is English? Do you think it OK to use the total population of England as the indicator for the numbers of English in England. If that is the case then for the Cornish people page the total population of Cornwall should be used for the numbers of Cornish?.

Secondly it is not my claim that there are 250,000 Cornish people so what are you going on about? All i have added of late is that a recent survey found that 44% of the Cornish populace thought themselves Cornish rather than British or English.

according to a recent Morgan Stanley Bank survey, 44 per cent of the inhabitants of Cornwall believe themselves to be Cornish rather than British or English [1]

Thirdly, i also wrote that you could record your ethnicity as Cornish on the 2001 UK census, you asked for proof and i provided it.

Here are some more links so you can find out a bit more about what you are trying to comment on.

In Cornwall, 44% of those asked said they felt Cornish, rather than English or British. sock puppeting edit

Good morning. Will you please state on WP:ANI whether you wish to be checked for sock puppeting. You can also check my statement there. +MATIA 08:39, 28 September 2005 (UTC)Reply

MATIA, I have limited time to spend on trifles. You can do what you see fit. GrandfatherJoe 13:34, 28 September 2005 (UTC)Reply
Are you absolutely sure about this? If you think it's trifle, I must point out that my suggestion is the quickest way to get over it. +MATIA 14:03, 28 September 2005 (UTC)Reply

Using a different account violates the block regarding 3RR violation. I've told before on your alter ego, that I have taken a thesis on the issue. +MATIA 18:05, 2 October 2005 (UTC)Reply

MATIA, please be reasonable. I'm tired of you accusing me of being a sockpuppet. I am not a sockpuppet. GrandfatherJoe 18:08, 2 October 2005 (UTC)Reply

(from my talk page: " Save the cynical accusations. Are you going to agree to mediation or not? GrandfatherJoe 18:11, 2 October 2005 (UTC)")Reply

REX, I 've wrote my thesis on the relevant talk pages days ago. +MATIA 18:18, 2 October 2005 (UTC)Reply

I am not User:REX, but you can believe that if you want, what you believe is of no consequence. BTW, you haven't written your thesis as you call it on the relevant talk pages. I can't find it. GrandfatherJoe 18:37, 2 October 2005 (UTC)Reply

Oh yes I have, REX. +MATIA 19:02, 2 October 2005 (UTC)Reply

Hey!!! Thanks for the proposal! I don't know if I am isolated there - I just don't check too often the developments there as they usually turn into some cheap wrangling between Greeks and Macedonians without any constructive results for the article. VMORO 17:03, 5 October 2005 (UTC)Reply

Here it is, SqueakBox 16:58, 9 October 2005 (UTC)Reply

Again, thank you. GrandfatherJoe (talk • contribs) 11:28, 10 October 2005 (UTC)Reply

I suggest to replace Macedonian Slavs to Macedonians or Macedonians (ethnicity. There is no dialogue with Chronographos and other similar users. Bomac 20:41, 11 October 2005 (UTC)Reply

I agree. GrandfatherJoe (talk • contribs) 11:49, 12 October 2005 (UTC)Reply

Hello edit

Referring to your statement at Wikipedia:Requests_for_arbitration/REX#Statement_by_semi-involved_party_GrandfatherJoe:

This request is part of a dispute that extends over many pages including Macedonian Slavs, Macedonia (region), Republic of Macedonia, Albanian language, Albanians, Albania, Kosovo and Arvanitika. This dispute seems to be ethnically motivated with people from various Balkan nationalities attempting to force their views on the intertwined issues on the pages. Firstly, I would like to make quite clear that the behaviour of all parties is unacceptable. There have been edit wars, personal attacks of a political and a racist nature from all sides.

I must ask you: Do you see me, in these lines, as well? I would like to hear your opinion. I would accept honest criticism. Regards. --FlavrSavr 16:28, 15 October 2005 (UTC)Reply

Thank your for your reply. I've protested about Bomac's behaviour, and if User:Macedonian's makes a personal attack, I would react as well. I understand that they get too emotional about this issue, but it is not wise to respond to personal attacks from Greeks. It is a sensitive issue, but everybody should remain calm. --FlavrSavr 21:22, 15 October 2005 (UTC)Reply

As an admin of the Macedonian Wikipedia I hope that we will work out something with the admins of the other Balkan Wikipedias, some kind of a model to reduce the influence of nationalism in Wikipedia. It is a threat to Wikipedia's mission - to describe disputes fairly and accurately. In the case of sensitive Balkan issue, the POV of the dominant ethnicity (in numbers and technology) prevails, even if the majority of the external sources show them wrong (such as the Macedonians/Macedonian Slavs case). We will work out something and present our proposals to Jimbo Wales directly (he is expected to come here in spring) - I think that there should be a body of neutral admins that will supervise nationalistic disputes. Ok, that'd be all for now, regards. --FlavrSavr 21:22, 15 October 2005 (UTC)Reply

+MATIA edit

Does your nickname have anything to do with your age? +MATIA 20:17, 19 October 2005 (UTC)Reply

People who are rude to me (like you) when I am not rude to them are not welcome on my talk page. GrandfatherJoe (talk • contribs) 21:31, 19 October 2005 (UTC)Reply

Well it took you more than 70 minutes to evade that simple question. As you wish - byebye for now. +MATIA 22:18, 19 October 2005 (UTC)Reply

I'm not the one evading questions, you are. Why don't you answer the question that I and FlavrSavr have asked you on many occassions, do you accept mediation? Of course, you won't answer. GrandfatherJoe (talk • contribs) 22:25, 19 October 2005 (UTC)Reply

I had answered to FlavrSavr (it's at his user page but you probably missed it) and my opinion on the matter is clear for a lot of admins on the relevant talk page. +MATIA 22:34, 19 October 2005 (UTC)Reply

Serbs edit

I think that Antidote's looks the closest to accuracy, but I have a seperate idea. The upper line should include those who are famous among Serbs (Saint Sava, Karageorge, Vuk), and the lower should include the globally famous (Constantine XI, Rudjer Boskovic, Nikola Tesla, Ivo Andric, Mila Jovovich, Bodiroga...) I hate declaring myself of a nation as much as I hate nationality. Look at my personal page and you'll understand. (I can't wait to hear your comment) P. S. I am nations a-many The decision of me being a Serb was solely decided by the Croatian Democratic Unity when they forced me to leave every material ownership behind (and several close lives) HolyRomanEmperor 22:49, 20 October 2005 (UTC)Reply

Accused for personal attacks edit

I think I should inform you about User:Matia.gr's recent actions of accusing you for personal attacks (see the history page: [[20]]). I tought you would like to know...
Anyway, do not be suprised. That is his tactics. If he doesn't have sources and valuable arguments, he start personal wars. Actually, as far as I remember, he never showed any constructivity in this issue.
BTW, I will be glad to help. I am sure that sooner or latter he could do the same to me. Actually, he would do that to anyone who does not support his POV because, as I already said, when lacking sources, personal wars is all what he has... Macedonian 03:28, 25 October 2005 (UTC)Reply

Ofcourse. That is, after all, its officiel name. HolyRomanEmperor 16:41, 29 October 2005 (UTC)Reply

Votes needed edit

There is a poll going on at Talk:Arvanitic language#Requested move to move Arvanitic language to Arvanitic (linguistics), to reflect the fact that its status as a language or dialect is disputed. This is done in all other similar cases (Flemish (linguistics), Mandarin (linguistics) etc). Please vote support if you support the move. Rex(talk)  15:52, 1 November 2005 (UTC)Reply
