Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions to the Down Comforter article, but for legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted.

Feel free to re-submit a new version of the article. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must include on the external site the statement "I, (name), am the author of this article, (article name), and I release its content under the terms of the GNU Free Documentation License, Version 1.2 and later."

You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here. You can also leave a message on my talk page. Joyous! | Talk 18:58, 29 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Down comforter

edit

Hi. Thanks for the effort, but it would be good if you wrote the article Down comforter in your own words. As was posted above, we can't accept things copied from other websites. You can still use websites to help you, since it's always good to have sources. Also, use Down comforter (with a lowercase c) instead of Down Comforter. Contact me if you need any help. Regards, MerovingianTalk 19:09, 29 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

As far as the case of the c goes, unless you are writing about a specific brand name product, "down comforter" is a strictly general term. Did you write the entire content of the page? --MerovingianTalk 19:20, 29 December 2006 (UTC)Reply
Okay, so it's not a real copyvio. Then, would it be possible for you to license your work for Wikipedia? (You may want to check out Wikipedia:Example requests for permission.) It will also need something of a rewrite; the opening should read something like
A down comforter is...
And then you describe it, and the features under separate headings. Also, it will need some sources (that is, the information you used to write the article [just personal information will not be enough, unfortunately]). --MerovingianTalk 19:58, 29 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

A tag has been placed on Down comforter, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group or service and which would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam.

If you can indicate why the subject of this article is not blatant advertising, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add {{hangon}} on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would help make it encyclopedic, as well as adding any citations from reliable sources to ensure that the article will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Hatch68 19:10, 29 December 2006 (UTC)Reply
