Your edit to Medicaid edit

Hi Goodrule, welcome to Wikipedia. I've reverted this edit to Medicaid, for the following reasons.

  • it deleted the statement "Medicaid is the largest source of funding for medical and health-related services for people with limited income" without explanation
  • the statement you added probably doesn't belong in the lead section (see WP:LEAD), it might fit in somewhere in History and Participation
  • the statement you added is supported (in footnote 20) by a link to the Kaiser Foundation at http://www.kff.org/kmcu - however, that is a dead link.

When you find a page at Kaiser or some other reliable source supporting the statement, please feel free to re-add it. --CliffC (talk) 01:12, 13 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the welcome, although I've edited anonymously for several years. I am reverting your undo. My edit did not delete "Medicaid is the largest source of funding for medical and health-related services for people with limited income" and it does belong in the lead as it follows the previous statement concerning that being poor does not necessarily make one eligible for Medicaid. It also serves to correct the incorrect belief that most poor people are eligible for Medicaid. Finally, the source I cited, Public Citizen, is an oft cited and respected source. --Goodrule (talk) 10:55, 13 September 2008 (UTC)Reply
My apologies, I read the diff carelessly and saw it in part as a deletion, and that's what set me off. I withdraw the comments I made above. --CliffC (talk) 17:24, 13 September 2008 (UTC)Reply
No problem and thanks for the apology. --Goodrule (talk) 03:50, 14 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open! edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
