Super League Teams Map

On the Super League page do you know how to change the location of the crusaders?Youndbuckerz (talk) 10:32, 31 January 2010 (UTC)

Since it's an image, you'd have to contact whoever made the image (I realise it says me, but I didn't make the image, I just edited the colours of the Crusaders' avatar) and ask them to remake it with the original map they used. Alternatively, we could replace the map with a generic Wikipedia map of England, Wales and then one of France for Catalans, similar to what's been done on the English Football League Championship's article. Sorry to snoop. I like the style of the NRL one over the English football one: {{NRL map}} - nice grey background and club colours. The layout of the current Super League map is good enough to be retained in my opinion (barring any better ideas). LunarLander // talk // 20:37, 31 January 2010 (UTC)

Firstly, the map needs to either be replaced or removed - its content doesn't reflect the article and therefore adds nothing to it (because Crusaders are in the wrong place, by the best part of 200 miles). There isn't any consensus across Wikipedia on which style of map should be used, so long as the map itself doesn't violate the standard guidelines for images (copyright, commercial use, etc.). You can put two images side by side in the same 'box' (for instance, a map of England and Wales, and then a map of France) using the template I use on my user page, it's possible to use maps already uploaded to Wikipedia and then just add "pins" for each team's location to them. Or you can make a whole new image like LunarLander said. Personally, I'd prefer to use maps already uploaded since this avoids the usual hassel that comes with uploading new images/creating new templates. Additionally, it removes he problem of only one user having the original file stored to their computer. Also, pointers should be used in place of leagueicons - they're more specific and thus more helpful and informative. GW(talk) 20:56, 31 January 2010 (UTC)

Some Assitance Needed

Hi Mate, I am attempting to make a template I can use in club season articles for match information. It's a bit of a mash up of the existing 'Rugby League Box Collapsible' template with a new look. Similar to the table you use on Wigan seaosn artilces.

However, I am struggling a bit with some of the code. I have put a number of 'IF' statements in so that I am able to list the try scorers. However when viewing the template it seems to have included the line breaks and has left massive spaces in the template between thw try scorer section and the goal scorers.

You can view an example of how I am currently using a table to format the layout on the 2010 Widnes Vikings season. There should not be such a large gap between where the try socrers end and the goal scorers begin. You can find the code example on my sandbox here here and an example of it in use on another of my sandbox pages here.

Can you have a look and see if you can fix the problem/make it more efficient for me?

If I had time, I'd do it myself, but Thursday–Sunday is the worst period of the week work-wise for me. Basically, you've inserted {{{if:}}} tags for the tries section so nothing will appear if the field is absent. However, after each tag, there's a new line. If you think how a browser would literally read that, instead of having {{{hometry}}} up to 25, it just has 25 line breaks instead, then it reads the goals section, hence the big break. The way to solve this is to literally remove all space between the end of one tag and the start of the next. Anything placed between comment tags (<!-- [comment] -->) isn't read by the browser. You can put each {{{hometry}}} tag on a new line for ease of reading if you wish, but you must follow them with comment tags. I've added a couple as an example. If that doesn't work, let me know. By the way, there is already a template that roughly does what you're trying here: {{rugbyleaguebox_collapsible}}. You can see it in action here. I'm 50-50 on whether I should be using that template myself on the Wigan articles, if only it didn't break up the prose so much. GW(talk) 20:03, 11 February 2010 (UTC)

Match Infoboxes

I have extended the template {{Rugbyleaguebox collapsible}} by adding a new style for season article matches. The additional template is {{Rugbyleaguebox collapsible/season}}. It may be of use to you mate as you use similar style on your 2010 Wigan Warriors season that I have used on 2010 Widnes Vikings season.

My edits to St Helens RLFC

Just to let you know, since your last review I have taken a lot of your points into account, most significantly referencing thoroughly. I was just wondering, when you said on the review that the honours section must be references, does that mean I have to reference every statistic, i.e. find the game in which the record was broken or when the trophy was won?

Peer review of St Helens RLFC

I know I seem to ask someone regularly, every six months to review the article, but I feel I have done almost, if not all that you requested from the last review of the article. That includes expanding and completely referencing the entirety of the club's history, adding some balance to when the club was unsuccessful and the little things i.e. spelling mistakes, en dashes and the like. After seeing some of the B-class rugby league articles, without trying to degrade the work of other editors, such as The Rugby Forum, I feel the time and effort I and other editors have put into the article's size and detail must count for something towards a higher class rating.

I would be grateful if you could find the time to review the article again.
