There are many Spanish language narco blogs covering the Mexican drug war, but only a few English language ones. Given that the state of affairs in Mexico dictates that all Mexican news organisations have to follow a policy of strict narco censorship just to keep their staff free from intimidation by the drug cartels, given that the daily news reporting falls to the narco blogs, for an English speaking person to find useful information on the state of play in Mexico it is important that he/she be able to find one of the few English language narco blogs easily, hence the page on Borderland Beat.
