Ok, Can I just put the Online Shop link into the Portsmouth page?? The Official site is on there. I dont understand why it has been removed?!

Thanks —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Gather100 (talkcontribs) 10:43, August 21, 2007 (UTC).

Can the editor removing this link please provide a reason? If it's the official shop of the town, then it is most likely appropriate for the article. SpigotMap 10:48, 21 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
No, unfortunately that still falls under '4. Links to sites that primarily exist to sell products or services'. The shop is linked from the official site, if anyone wants it they will find it. However, it is not just that link. You have been adding links to kitbag.com to multiple pages, many with no connection at all. Nuttah68 10:51, 21 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

I am the Account Manager of the Portsmouth Online Store.

Forget the other links, can we just have the Portsmouth shop link? I dont understand why not. It makes it easier for people to find it.

No, it is spam that you are trying to place for commercial reasons. Please read WP:SPAM and WP:COI. Nuttah68 10:58, 21 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Spam

edit

It's not exactly spam is it? Its an Official Site of the Football Club. There are other links throughout Wikipedia that are worse. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Gather100 (talkcontribs) 11:01, August 21, 2007 (UTC).

Please read the guidelines already posted, and WP:LINKS#Advertising_and_conflicts_of_interest and WP:OTHERCRAPEXISTS now. Yes, it is spam. Wikipedia is an encyclopaedia, not a business directory. An article on the club does not justify linking in sites that have no other purpose than to make commercial gain. Nuttah68 11:07, 21 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hi, there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. On many keyboards, the tilde is entered by holding the Shift key, and pressing the key with the tilde pictured. You may also click on the signature button   located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when.
