Hello and Jane Findlater

edit

Hello, welcome - and thanks for all your contributions.

I know lots of people say Jane Findlater was born in Lochearnhead, but this is actually contradicted by the birth certificate, as I've outlined here. Wish we knew why her mother was in Edinburgh for the birth! --HJMG 22:36, 20 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Glen Dochart

edit

Hi. I have read the article you have created. Unfortunately, I still don't know what Glen Dochart happens to be - a creek, a river, a or a road? Would you mind having another look at that. I have no idea what a Glen happens to be - maybe you could link to a suitable article in the lead sentence? Garrie 04:33, 12 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Adding Pictures

edit

The image I want to add is http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/ig/5/5a/Ojukwu246.jpg

It obviously exists on Wikipedia (albiet the Igbo version), but I don't know how to transport it.

There may be a technical way. I suggest you place {{helpme}} here and ask how. There is always the option of downloading and uploading, but asking for expert advice first makes sense. If I knew the best solution I'd tell you  :) Fiddle Faddle 21:29, 24 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
ig:Image:Ojukwu246.jpg is now under "See also" in the article, but as a link, not as an image. I imagine there is a better way. Fiddle Faddle 07:37, 25 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
I took this a little further. See my talk page If "missing" then check the relevant archive, I never delete items), but note that the Igbo image has no licensing details and would not currently be acceptable here. Fiddle Faddle 13:03, 25 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open!

edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
