Re: Deleted article edit

Hi Jeff! The previous article on Gameplasma was deleted because it was a copyright violation of the webpage [1]. I can't therefore supply the text, but it was an exact copy. Assuming the publication itself is sufficiently notable to merit inclusion, a new article with different wording would be acceptable. Alternatively, as I see you work for the company, it would also be possible for the copyright holder to officially release the copyright of the webpage under the terms of the GNU Free Documentation License, which could then be copied to Wikipedia. Information on how to go about doing this is available at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.

However, you should first check Wikipedia:Notability (web) to see guidelines on the inclusion of webcontent in Wikipedia, as not all online publications are considered sufficiently notable. Hope this is of assistance! Cheers, Espresso Addict (talk) 21:45, 10 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

I appreciate the help. The part I am confused about is that the "copyrighted" material was posted on Wikipedia by the same guy who created it on the Gameplasma website. Therefore the copyright infringement wasn't copyright infringement after all. But I will do what you suggested and try to get it back up. Again, I appreciate the help. I'm no copyright expert, but I believe simply reposting material that's been written for a commercial organisation on Wikipedia isn't enough to clear all the legal hurdles. The company would need to explicitly license the material, by following the instructions at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. It would probably be quicker, though, just to write a different introduction to Gameplasma from scratch for Wikipedia. Good luck! Espresso Addict (talk) 22:10, 10 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Re: Guilty Gear XX Revision changes edit

Just because other articles have reviews in External Links, that doesn't make them correct. Reviews should be placed in a Reception section.
More importantly, this review is from your own website. That's self promotion and violates WP:COI. Satoryu (talk) 16:36, 13 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Gameplasma edit

The article Gameplasma has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done because the article seemed to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, but it did not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the notability of the subject may be deleted at any time. If you can indicate why the subject is really notable, you are free to re-create the article, making sure to cite any verifiable sources.

Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and for specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for musicians, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. NawlinWiki (talk) 18:20, 15 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

  • The article didn't assert that the site was notable per WP:WEB, and didn't cite any independent sources to show the site's notability. See WP:RS. NawlinWiki (talk) 18:56, 15 April 2008 (UTC)Reply
    • You wrote: "I understand that, but it was deleted merely an hour after creation. I felt that it would be bias for me, one of the staff at gameplasma, to continue to work on it, so i posted it and was going to contact a few wikipedia friends of mine to finish it with the viewpoint outside of the company and unbiased. But it was deleted before they had the chance to fix it up." They are welcome to repost the article if they can establish the site's notability through reliable sources, as stated above.
