A word about "wikilinks"

edit

Links to wikipedia articles are very picky, and must be exact, so Mars (Fritz Zorn) is a good link, but if you forget the capital letters, like Mars (fritz zorn), they won't work. (Note the red link indicates that the linked article doesn't exist.) Hope this helps. Fan-1967 14:17, 20 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Categorization

edit

Please note that people should be categorized in a specific "nationality occupation" category, not just in a general overview category. For instance, Patrick Lo Giudice belongs in Category:Swiss artists, not in the separate combination of Category:Swiss people and Category:Arts. Similarly, a Swiss writer should be filed in Category:Swiss writers, not in Category:Swiss people and Category:Literature. Thanks. Bearcat 03:48, 16 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Oh, and don't file people in Category:Men, either; it's meant as a catchall for articles about maleness qua maleness, not as an exhaustive list of all male individuals with articles on Wikipedia. Bearcat 03:55, 16 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Uriella

edit
Welcome to Wikipedia! We could really use your help to create new content, but your recent additions (such as "Uriella") are considered nonsense. Please refrain from creating nonsense articles. If you want to test things out, edit the sandbox instead. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia. Notability of JP Love

edit

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on JP Love, by Hu (talk · contribs), another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because JP Love seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting JP Love, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Please note, this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion, it did not nominate JP Love itself. Feel free to leave a message on the bot operator's talk page if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot. --Android Mouse Bot 2 09:04, 16 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

AfD nomination of Joy Ride (Swiss film)

edit

An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is Joy Ride (Swiss film). We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Joy Ride (Swiss film). Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.

Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:35, 12 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Unreferenced BLPs

edit

Hello FritzZorn! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 2 of the articles that you created are tagged as Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring these articles up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 874 article backlog. Once the articles are adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the list:

  1. Charlotte Kerr - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL
  2. Josef Ritler - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL

Proposed deletion of Martin Schippert

edit

The article Martin Schippert has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No indication of noteability via third party sources (or any others, for that matter)

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. ArbCom elections are now open!

edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
