Ohio's Blue Belt

edit

First of all thanks for your contribution. Now for the bad news: An editor orginally tagged your article for deletion with the {{prod}} tag. When the editor tagged the article, however, they did not leave a comment. Therefore, I have moved your article to Wikipedia's Articles of Deletion. There is currently discussion concerning if the article should be deleted or stay. I encourage you to visit the article's AfD page and comment. Thanks again and happy editing!! Block

edit

"{{unblock}}" Earlier today (27 March) someone blocked me for no apparent reason. S/he cited vandalism, but I have never vandalized any page on Wikipedia. I would like the accuser to kindly provide the name of the page I supposedly vandalized.

You're not blocked. Is it your IP? If so, please put this tag on your IP's talk page. If you don't know your IP, it should be in the error message you get when you try to edit. --Rory096 20:53, 27 March 2006 (UTC)Reply
Help! Someone keeps blocking me for no reason! This time it said "repeat vandal" and "school ip"... I don't understand what they are talking about. Check out all of my contributions. I have never vandalized anything on Wikipedia. This is very frustrating.
Read what Rory096 said above. It's not you directly who is blocked, it is the IP (computer) address you are using. This could be for a single computer at your school, or a single address for your entire school. People at your school are vandalizing the project. The only way we at the project can deal with this is to block off the IP. But when the IP is blocked, all users on that IP, logged in or not, are blocked. Do note that IP blocks are generally kept fairly short, though I can look into this specific one for you. You will *have* to provide the IP address. I have no access to your IP address, but you should see it in the same blocked message you mention above. Without that address, there's little I or any other admin can do for you. With it, I can go review why that address is blocked, and see if it's ok for it to be unblocked. - TexasAndroid 18:49, 6 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Thanks! The IP Address is 168.184.220.4. Yes, it is a school ip. Thanks again...

Ok. The IP is currently on a one week block for vandalism. That block is set to expire in a few hours, so at this point I'm inclined to just let it run out. However, at the rate at which the IP tends to resume vandalism, I would not be surprised if it gets blocked again. So if you want to help prevent this, you can help us to get the vandalism stopped. This would involve who, in your school, is ultimately responsible for security on the computers. Maybe a system administrator. Maybe the principle. Whoever, if you can figure out who it is, the vandals can be reported. Either you can report them, or you can give over the contact info and one of the WP admins like myself can contact them. - TexasAndroid 13:32, 7 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Sounds good. I will see what I can do. I'll talk to our tech manager. Thanks again.

Proposed deletion of Nigerian Heresy

edit

The article Nigerian Heresy has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Wikipedia is not for neologisms. ("Nigerian+Heresy" It's a neologism.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
