Hi - welcome to Wikipedia! Concerning your question about the wheat and chessboard problem - it would be a very interesting addition to the article; it's a new point of view for me. The one thing is that it needs a source - that is, something linkable which discusses the problem from the point of view of sustainability rather than exponential power.
