Fatbat, It seems that the only two articles you have interest in editing are those of two members of the Knight family, are you by any chance related? If so, I suggest that you follow the wikipedia guidelines and arrest from editing articles that you hve personal connection to. JzoJames (talk) 15:11, 10 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

JJ, no I'm not related!! I have written a dissertation on British political newspapers and figures for my MA at Univ of Copenhagen, with particular interest in the Economist's coverage of Thatcher and the TU's, and so Andrew Knight. That's why the contribution to his page, I'm not a wikiFile in general. As for relatives not contributing - people create their own crazy, selfadulatory pages on Wiki (see Knight's daughter Amaryllis as example) - does one's self count as a personal connection? I see you contribute only to pages related to Amaryllis Knight, her family, her fiance and their company, so I understand if you do not like me having put up her page for deletion. The reason I've done it that her father's page is of genuine public interest, but her link on it seems ridiculous. Fatbat

  • In response to your incorrect statement about me only writing about Knights family, you obviously didn't look at my contributions before your retort! As for the history on Knights' daughters' page: I am one of a multitude of people that have edited her page. I am a huge fan of her motorcycles which is why I find her interesting. Her fiancee builds them with her and I have followed his work for over a decade. I wrote a magazine article about them recently, which brought her fascinating upbringing and family to my attention. I didn't have any personal issue with you putting her up for deletion but her article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, so I along with others voted against your rash and subjective opinion - as per the result of your put for deletion: Keep. Ms. Knight is a well known figure in American motorcycle culture, having just won the most important motorcycle competition in the world (attended by 7000 people) for the bike she and her company built with Barry. You being interested in and studying British politics means that you probably wont have heard of her unless you are also a fan of the motorcycle world. If you aren't, you might not know of her, her company or work - as I and most other fans in the States do. Regardless it is rather arrogant and strange, not to mention ignoring the guidelines of wikipedia, to be putting a page up for deletion due to your lack of education, interest or knowledge about it's subject! I also find it interesting that you claim to have watched her television series and supposedly counted the number of minutes she appeared on screen with Osbourne. Out of interest, was that a part of your dissertation too, and when did it air in Copenhagen? JzoJames (talk) 10:27, 4 October 2008 (UTC)Reply
