Disputed fair use rationale for File:Attana logo.gif}

Thank you for uploading File:Attana logo.gif. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image under "fair use" may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies for fair use. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check:

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's escription page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

Please be aware that a fair use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the fair use policy require both a copyright tag and a fair use rationale.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it might be deleted by adminstrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. Orphaned non-free media (File:Z vanilin album cover.jpg)

  Thanks for uploading File:Z vanilin album cover.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 17:53, 13 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

How did you do that?

How did you make my revisions into this. I worked on that image for a hour and I failed :P. What program did you use and how long did it take you?Irunongames • play 13:06, 25 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Firstly sorry for the late reply, I've only just got back from a month in Australia. It actually didn't take me that long, as you had done a decent job matching it up, especially with the colour differences. I used Photoshop to patch and clone out the seams, probably took just over 30 mins ;D Tango22 (talk) 20:25, 23 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Wow, that's fantastic work ! This was my image originally, from my flickr page. I have the originals; I must make a better montage sometime, as the Maiden Castle article is pretty damn good. But if you want to have a crack at it yourself I can let you have the originals. I can be contacted through the link to flickr on the image's page.91.135.13.30 (talk) 02:13, 22 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

SVGs vs. PNGs &etc.

Thanks for updating some of the German football related images, but please be aware of the following bits;

  • There is no strict requirement in place to convert SVGs to PNGs. Unless there is some clear advantage, its probably not necessary.
  • The conversion of logo files from PNGs to SVGs is controversial in some quarters because of issues related to image quality under non-free content policy NFCC. You may find yourself having to defend the choice from editors with an anti-free image POV.
  • Most of the existing PNGs have solid FURs and carry certain category tags - if you make the change please make sure you are carrying forward this information. Quite often the category tags get left behind.

The reason I'm concerned about this is because of long-term, on-going problems with anti-image editors. We've got a pretty stable situation in place right now and I'm looking to see it stay that way. I don't want to get caught between two different groups, one whose enthusiasm is for rule banging, the other whose joy is more technical in character. If you have new stuff to add, I think that's great, but be mindful of the fact things are pretty much in good shape and there should be good reason for making a change. Thanks. Wiggy! Proposed deletion of Darkest Hour: Europe '44-'45

The article Darkest Hour: Europe '44-'45 has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

no assertion of notability

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the Proposed Deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The Speedy Deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and Articles for Deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Ironholds (talk) 18:31, 19 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Hendrik Ernst

Hi! It seems you recently created an unreferenced biography of a living person: Hendrik Ernst. Our verifiability policy requires that all content be cited to a reliable source. Please add references as soon as possible. Thanks! --LaraBot (talk) 00:10, 18 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

Hi mate. I saw you had made a typo with this player's name. It's Henrik Ernst, not Hendrik. I've updated his career statistics and added a couple of links as well as improve the infobox. I couldn't find a place of birth for the bloke, but please feel free to update any of the information on the page. Best greetings. Jared Preston (talk) 11:05, 7 March 2010 (UTC)Reply
Oh yeah, thanks for fixing that and letting me know, I didn't notice! Probably because the D is right next to the R on my keyboard XD Fallschirmjäger 18:12, 7 March 2010 (UTC)Reply
