The links I added are informational, not advertising edit

The external links I added may not be of interest to you but would be of real informational interest to those in the area interested in what a county has to offer in the way of trails. The site is not a spam site and each link is directly linked to the that counties county page on the bamatrails site. I don't know about other states, but in Alabama there is real shortage of good information on what trails are available out there and since Wikipedia is an informational source for all to use I would think you could see that. The links are directly to pages offering trails details and maps which I could only see as adding value to the county pages they were added too. Just because I spent the time to add them all in one day while still directing the link to each individual page shouldn't give you cause to call it spam and revert it. Please consider reverting your change and allowing those who have an interest in fitness in the 2nd most obese state in the union to have access to the fitness information being provided by the site. I'm not a company and I don't get paid for any of the work that has been done on the site, so to label it advertising is just wrong, the site is informational. Thank you... A thought edit

Even with the external link leading to specific pages, rather than only http://bamatrails.com/ as added by the anonymous accounts (this is usually a good indication of a spammer at work, by the way) as was first done, it still isn't appropriate to add a link on trails to each county or city article. In addition to the spam guideline, also see links normally to be avoided and the rest of the external links guideline.. The links you added are specific to trails, so shouldn't be on a general article about a county or city. However, the link would be appropriate on an article about Alabama trails. We only have a few so far, see Category:Hiking trails in Alabama for what is here already. You would be welcome to expand on those and write new ones if you wish to expand Wikipedia's coverage of Alabama-related fitness activities. Altairisfartalk 20:27, 14 January 2009 (UTC)Reply
