Naming rules

Hi, and welcome to WP. Since nobody else seems to have mentioned it, our standard naming convention is to use the most-specific common name, for instance, Bichir instead of Polypteriformes or whatever. We also go for the smallest taxon in cases of monotypes, so for instance we would prefer Polypteridae to Polypteriformes if there was no common name. See Ginkgo for an extreme example.
