edit

Hello. This is a message to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions, such as the edit you made to Habesha peoples, did not appear constructive and has been reverted. Please take some time to familiarise yourself with our policies and guidelines. You can find information about these at our welcome page which also provides further information about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. If you only meant to make test edits, please use the sandbox for that. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you may leave a message on my talk page. In this edit you inserted text in front of an existing citation, but the cited source doesn't say this. See Talk:Habesha peoples/Archives/2020/May#Source redux. Request reason:

Why is my account blocked? All my edits had sources. I know that one of you guys didn’t like one of my edits because, you guys said that I added something behind a previous citation that was talking about something els, I understand that part a made a mistake and I’m sorry about that. I recently created this account after reading through the Habesha peoples page and saw that a lot of the stuff mentioned was wrong (except for a few things). I saw that a lot of the definitions for Habesha on this page is one sided and didn’t reflect what we in this community define as our cultural identity, and that this was unfair. I read through most of the other sources that were cited some of them were good the other’s weren’t. I looked up the names of the authors that portrayed what my community, the Habesha community say about ourselves, and found other similar papers to help better explain it better. After I saw this page, I wanted to contribute and lessen the biases in Wikipedia because I have heard countless times on the news and from friends that there is a huge bias here with a lot less people of colo on Wikipedia, and wanted to help clean it up. I saw a post on Instagram and Habesha Twitter, that said that a lot of the stuff on Wikipedia about Habeshas is really bad, borderline racist, and that they have been deleting contributions and accounts of people with Ethiopian, Eritrean, and Somali sounding usernames. This doesn’t sound fair. Can I get my account back, please? EthiopianEritrean (talk) 02:47, 1 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

This does not address the reason for the block, sockpuppetry, or use of multiple accounts. You will need to address this in an unblock request, I am declining this one. 331dot (talk) 07:39, 1 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

Why, I don’t have another account? So the reports are true that Wikipedia is systematically deleting accounts with Ethiopian, Somali, and Eritrean sounding usernames. Most of the Habesha kids at my university and some of them at my community center and the Habeshas on social media kept saying their Wikipedia accounts were being deleted. At this point I don’t care anymore, I see the messed up bias Wikipedia has against Africans. EthiopianEritrean (talk) 12:58, 1 May 2020 (UTC)Reply
