The New Jersey State and County Route Newsletter
Issue 2 – February 2007

Issue #2

The second issue of the WP:NJSCR newsletter celebrates the promotion of Interstate 295 (Delaware-New Jersey) to good article status, as well as changes to the project on the county routes side.

Project News
  • For all non-500-series county routes, the state is NJ County_name, and the type is blank.
  • Infoboxes are set up for the following counties: Sussex, Ocean, Mercer, Cumberland, Bergen, Middlesex, Atlantic, and Monmouth.
  • The following counties have a full set of shield SVGs: Middlesex, Monmouth, Ocean, and Sussex
  • If you need help -- such as an infobox for another county, or more shield images -- don't hesitate to let Northenglish know. If you create an infobox that doesn't work properly (lots of redlinks), enclose it in an HTML comment (<!-- -->), and we'll get it working ASAP.
Member of the Month
  • The member of the month is EaglesFanInTampa, for his tireless work adding infoboxes to the 500-series county routes.

Embedded journalists

edit

Hello! I noticed your name on the Countering Systemic Bias project page, which I think is a really important effort on Wikipedia. It also seems from your user page that you know a lot about journalism and mass media. Anyways, I was wondering if you would be willing to help me improve some of the pages related to the Iraq war and media. For example, Embedded journalist could use a lot of work in terms of more history and commentary on the practice. Also, [1] doesn't even say the same basic stuff as the main embedded journalist page. Anyways, I have more ideas for improvements that need to be made on these kinds of pages. So if you are interested, let me know either on your talk page or mine. I would love the help! Thanks. --Mackabean 19:50, 9 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Research survey invitation

edit

Greetings ErinENj-

My name is Randall Livingstone, and I am a doctoral student at the University of Oregon, studying digital media and online community. I am posting to invite you to participate in my research study exploring the work of Wikipedia editors who are members of WikiProject: Countering Systemic Bias. The online survey should take 20 to 25 minutes to complete and can be found here:

https://oregon.qualtrics.com/SE/?SID=SV_cSHzuwaQovaZ6ss

Your responses will help online communication researchers like me to better understand the collaborations, challenges, and purposeful work of Wikipedia editors like you. In addition, at the end of the survey you will have the opportunity to express your interest in a follow-up online interview with the researcher.

This research project has been reviewed and approved by the Wikimedia Research Committee as well as the Office for Protection of Human Subjects at the University of Oregon. For a detailed description of the project, please visit its Meta page. This survey is voluntary, and your confidentiality will be protected. You will have the choice of using your Wikipedia User Name during the research or creating a unique pseudonym. You may skip any question you choose, and you may withdraw at any time. By completing the survey, you are providing consent to participate in the research.

If you have any questions about the study, please contact me via my Talk Page (UOJComm) or via email. My faculty advisor is Dr. Ryan Light. If you have any questions regarding your rights as a research participant, please contact the Office for Protection of Human Subjects at the University of Oregon.

Thank you very much.

Sincerely,

Randall Livingstone School of Journalism & Communication University of Oregon UOJComm (talk) 03:55, 22 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

Devil's Tree revert

edit

Hi. Welcome back to Wikipedia after ... seven years? Wow ... were you asleep under a curse or something?

Anyway, I am letting you know that I restored part of an edit you made to Devil's Tree. While it's a common presumption that Martinsville is in Bridgewater, and indeed most of it is, as the Martinsville article points out some of the ZIP code laps over into the southern extension of Bernards. It is that portion that Pingry School, which I've always recalled hearing described as being in Martinsville since they moved to that location (on ... Martinsville Road, yet!), and the tree are in. Hence that statement in the article intro.

I think we had a pretty spirited argument once, before the 2010 deletion, on the talk page that settled this, but I am unable to locate it now. Daniel Case (talk) 07:08, 29 December 2014 (UTC)Reply
