4Philip.org edit

Hi Eric, I have read through your website and I am sorry to hear that you lost your son (presumably to Addison's disease), I can't imagine how tough that must be. Your charity is a great cause however, wikipedia doesn't allow for every charity related to an article to be listed. There is also a lot written about editing on a subject where you are intimately involved and this is discouraged [1]. Please stay and improve the article or any others that you might be interested in. best wishes FlatOut 06:44, 3 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

Link to website edit

I think from the responses on Talk:Addison's disease it should be clear that we cannot currently allow a link to the 4philip.org website on the Addison's disease page. Several reasons have already been provided, e.g. that the charity is relatively small and of local/regional interest only. It is not Wikipedia's stated aim to expose the charity's work to the public.

On Talk:Addison's disease I made the observation that some content of the website seemed to misrepresent current scientific thinking. While the immune response in cancer is receiving intense scientific scrutiny, it is incorrect to say that cancer is therefore an autoimmune disease. I don't dispute the fact that this might be a quote from a practicing clinician, but to anyone with a scientific background it sounds fringe and I would go as far as saying that it undermines the credibility of the site.

There are various other ways of attracting public interest to 4philip.org's work. Having it listed on DMOZ might be useful, and linking up with other organisations. JFW | T@lk 00:40, 6 May 2013 (UTC)Reply
