Lead

edit

The lead for the article is very well done. It is of an appropriate length and the reader can derive the main points of the topic from the lead alone. It provides just the right amount of information, without delving into too much detail. The lead does not contain any irrelevant or distracting info and the ideas presented by the lead are developed further in the rest of the article.

Content

edit

The content contained in the article is presented well and nicely written. All content is up-to-date and relevant to the species. The sections were easy to read and informative without using too much scientific jargon or overexplaining any concepts. The "Behaviour and Ecology" section is helpful and highlights the most important points concerning the behaviours of the species.

Tone and Balance

edit

The article is written in an unbiased manner with no claims meant to sway the reader's opinion on the topic. It is balanced and neutral. The tone is descriptive and educational!

Sources and References

edit

The user has chosen an appropriate amount of well-suited references for the article. The citations and bibliography are done properly with working links. The information presented is backed up by the chosen scientific literature. A nice variety of thorough literature was used.

Organization

edit

The draft was executed very well. The wording is concise and easy to read, yet also informative. There are a few minor grammatical errors which can be easily fixed for the final article. The article is organized nicely with proper use of headings and sub-headings. The sections used represent the main topics of the article.

Images and Media

edit

For the final draft, it would be nice to see a couple more images in the article. Maybe some pictures of the different sub-species could be included?

Overall impressions

edit

Overall, the article draft is great so far! The additions made have really improved the article. The original article was quite short and lacking in references, but the contributions have greatly increased the quality of the article. The user has not only cleaned up and reorganized the original article, but also made it seem more complete. The only other thing that could possibly be added is a little more info on the effects of deforestation, etc... on the northward spread of the species distribution. Do you think that with time the shiny cowbirds will continue to move up further to other parts of North America? I think that it would be a good idea to add some more points on this topic if you could find enough information on it in the literature. Great job!Ehong25 (talk) 20:12, 5 November 2019 (UTC)Reply
