Assignment 1

edit

Great start to Wikipedia! I made a very minor edit to your sandbox. You can see the edit from the history page. Can you see what I did and do you know why I did it? Biolprof (talk) 02:24, 25 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

Great progress!

edit

User:Emileemagnusen and User:RegOH, you have made a lot of really good progress. I do have a few comments:

  • If you are going to edit the lead, be sure you adhere to these guidelines: WP:LEAD. Major rewrites of the lead section are often controversial, so you should also add a comment to the talk page, explaining why you made the changes and that you would welcome feedback or comments. Talk to me before you do it, if you have questions about this.
  • There is a separate article on the WRN gene that is just a stub. It might be a good idea to add some of the more detailed information about the gene to that page instead of or in addition to this page. The information you currently have in your "Gene" section, includes information about the protein, so it might fit better in the current section titled "Molecular cellular biology," which is in great need of expansion.
  • It might be nice to add a section on history. There are 2 sentences about the discovery of the disease in the lead, which could be incorporated into a section on history. In addition, who first discovered the gene? Are there other interesting historical tidbits in any of your references?

Hope this helps. Biolprof (talk) 04:06, 16 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

Assignment 4 Discussion

edit

Hey User:Emileemagnusen Instead of a paragraph about treatment I added some things we could add to the WRN gene page. The WRN page has almost no information on it, so I just suggested some things that I thought were most important. As far as the treatment paragraph goes, I think the one that is already on the Werner syndrome page is okay because there isn't much more to say about treatment of the disease. I would just maybe add a a few lines saying that treatment mostly involves treating the symptoms and dealing with associated diseases. I can add a section on history as well, if we want to do that. We can talk about it tomorrow. RegOH (talk) 09:38, 18 March 2014 (UTC)Reply
