Ulipristal acetate edit

Thank you for your contribution to Ulipristal acetate! Please note that singling out a pharmacy where a drug is being sold might look like promotion. I am sure you meant well, but we are supposed to keep a WP:neutral point of view; and Wikipedia is also not meant to be a guide or directory that answers questions like "where can I buy this".

By the way, "at select pharmacies"? I am not familiar with the US health system, but do you mean to say that a pharmaceutical company can choose at which pharmacies they sell their products, and patients have to find out?

Thanks again for logging in and helping with the encyclopaedia, ἀνυπόδητος (talk) 19:27, 10 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

Changes removed regarding ella and online pharmacy edit

Hi, I noticed you removed the changes I made due to concerns about looking like it was a "marketing message." Please visit the cite I included since I believe this is very relevant information. Watson Pharmaceuticals in fact appointed only one online pharmacy to distribute ella. This pharmacy already has a Wikipedia page in place, therefore readers can check the validity of the site. I feel that by leaving this information out, readers are missing out on valuable information. There are many news sites publishing this information and some controversy swarming around the idea that this pill can be prescribed and purchased online. If you would like further information, there was recently a great article published about this in the Washington Post. (http://voices.washingtonpost.com/checkup/2010/12/controversial_contraceptive_av.html)

I would really like to encourage you to leave the information I added, as I am not a marketer and merely read about this aspect of the newly approved pill and thought it would be a notable contribution to this page.

Thanks! ElizabethShap (talk) 19:48, 10 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

Hi! My apologies for not reading your source. I have split off a history section and re-added your information. I have left out the bit about "selected" pharmacies because the source says it's available in most pharmacies. I am still a bit flabbergasted about the way things are run in the US, so I hope I've found a neutral tone. Hope you are satisfied, but please feel free to complain otherwise. --ἀνυπόδητος (talk) 20:23, 10 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

Thanks so much, I agree with you on the "selected" pharmacies part, I think that could definitely be misconstrued. I also noticed there is mention of ella again on the emergency contraception page. Would it be appropriate to add the same language you approved for the ella page to this page as well? If so, I can update that right away. Thanks, I appreciate your feedback as I am new to Wikipedia.

Yes, I think it is okay to mention that on the emergency contraception page. ἀνυπόδητος (talk) 09:52, 11 December 2010 (UTC)Reply
