Image placing edit

Ciao! Beware when moving images that they don't create blanks (usually when there are two images too near, or inpresence of infobozes). Good worK!! --Attilios 23:08, 20 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

I assume you are referring to Cortona. I'm not sure if I did something wrong there, or if you're referring to the missing CortonaConcert.jpg image. If it's the later, know that I didn't touch that image as I'm not sure of the Wikipedia policies for images proposed for deletion. Generally when that happens, I just try not to mess things up further. If I goofed something else up, please do let me know how I did if you can so that I avoid it in the future. Thanks for your help! I look forward to visiting Cortona, Rome, and Venice in April. Perhaps I can come up with some images or information for that page while I am there! --El Krem 23:22, 20 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Telecommunications broker edit

I moved the article per WP:NAME to be exact (which is part of WP:MoS). I then deleted the article under WP:CSD#G11 because it read like an advertisement for the job. There was a lot of POV words, and the whole fight over the links in the article was a bit suspicious. If someone can write a clean article that is referenced and meets WP:MoS, then I will allow for the article to be recreated. First, I would like someone to rewrite the article in a sub-page somewhere. If you are planning to do so, let me know and I can give you the last version of the page and you can work from there. I welcome your comments. I would be happy to support your suggestions to clarify. Sometimes I can cut too much in the interest of brevity. Thanks! --Kevin Murray 19:00, 27 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Wikipedia Ambassador Program in Houston edit

Hi! I'm leaving you this message because you're listed as a Wikipedian from Houston. The Wikipedia Ambassador Program is currently looking for Campus Ambassadors from the Houston area, to help with Wikipedia assignments at Texas Southern University. Classes at TSU will be participating in the Public Policy Initiative for the Spring 2011 semester, and the role of Campus Ambassadors will be to provide face-to-face training and support for students on Wikipedia-related skills (how to edit articles, how to add references, etc.). This includes doing in-class presentations, running workshops and labs, possibly holding office hours, and in general providing in-person mentorship for students.

Prior Wikipedia skills are not required for the role, as training will be provided for all Campus Ambassadors (although, of course, being an experienced editor is a plus).

If you are interested in being a Wikipedia Campus Ambassador, or know someone in Houston who might be, please email me or leave a message on my talk page. Thanks!--Sage Ross - Online Facilitator, Wikimedia Foundation (talk) 20:11, 1 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open! edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
