Peer Review: Suspensory Behaviour

• I checked all of the references and they are all working great. Your reference for number 7 says “Missing or empty |title= (help)” so not sure if you are able to do anything about that.

• All of the links to the references throughout your article work.

• One suggestion would be to create links to difference Wikipedia pages throughout your article, for example if there is a page for arboreal locomotion, or brachation, climbing and bridging it would be cool to have them linked to your article. You could also link things such a monkeys or the humours or other body parts because there is most likely pages for those!

• This topic is super interesting and you did a great job of explaining what the different mechanisms and terms are so that everyone is able to understand.

• You might be able to find a picture of a particular animal displaying this behaviour on the Wikimedia commons section.

• I like that your lead is clear and we can understand the topic from it! If you wanted to, you could mention that they use suspensory behaviour for locomotion and as a means of foraging, where you have subsections with those.

• You have a long list of the different positions and their mechanisms for displaying this behaviour, but none of the sections are referenced. If they are all from the 10th reference (which I think that’s why you have that linked above) you may want to include that reference after each position. I’m not positive if this is necessary so you may want to double check with the Wikipedia helper.

• I liked the way you have things formatted, but if you were looking to add some subheadings you could under biomechanics. It would be possible to have a subheading 1 for the different ways the animals display themselves during suspensory behaviour. This would make the sections of your article look more balanced instead of having a very large biomechanics section and smaller ones for locomotion/foraging.

• The last sentence in your locomotion section also doesn’t have a reference, if it’s from the same one as the sentence before it (11) you might want to move that link to the end of the second sentence.

• I thought your spelling/grammar was great and didn’t see any problems, and I really liked the section on feeding.

• If you are looking for more sections, you could possibly include one on species and have difference subheadings listing the ones that display this behaviour and which position they do it in. You’d also be able to create more links in your article in a section like this!

• The writing was neutral and not persuasive in any way and seemed to be structured well. The biomechanics section was very interesting and something I could think about for the behaviour I chose for my article. Hope your presentation goes well!
