Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, please note that there is a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Deviating from this style, as you did in Shin Hye-sun, disturbs uniformity among articles and may cause readability or accessibility problems. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Paper9oll (🔔📝) 13:22, 28 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

so you're so called manual of style is more important than showcasing the correct name of the person being talked about? You're just saying you can't change/correct it because it is a hassle to change other articles also containing the wrong info. So you suggest that shin hae Sun will be SHIN HYE SUN forever just because you people say so. This does not make you all smart, it it's anything it makes you illogical and nonsensical. Imagine being called Sophia forever because people are to lazy to refer to you as "Sofia" Eeicarg (talk) 10:39, 15 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
There is a proper process to follow to do what you are asking, and there are policies that govern content here- like WP:COMMONNAME. That process does not include personal attacks. You need to discuss your concerns on the talk page and gain a consensus. 331dot (talk) 10:46, 15 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
Oh sorry if you took it personally, my emotions took over. People usually come here and edit her name with detailed explanation and rationale why it has to be the way it is, we just don't get enough reason why it keeps on reverting back to a name that causes confusion among kdrama fans and causes trouble with her publicity. As long time editors, this wouldn't be the first time you'll get complaints regarding her name on your page, hope you'll help reach a resolution soon too as the actress have publicly announced and thereby officially cementing her name as Shin Hae Sun. Note that what someone calls themselves is important- but not the only consideration. Articles are typically titled by what reliable sources most commonly use, see WP:COMMONNAME. In any event, I don't have a particular opinion on this issue- only that you need to discuss it in a civil manner on the article talk page first and get a consensus with other editors. Thank you. 331dot (talk) 13:00, 15 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

Please do not attack other editors, as you did at Shin Hye-sun. Comment on content, not on contributors. Personal attacks damage the community and deter users. Please stay cool and keep this in mind while editing. Thank you. 331dot (talk) 10:31, 15 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

Please do not use styles that are nonstandard, unusual, inappropriate or difficult to understand in articles. There is a Manual of Style, and edits should not deliberately go against it without special reason. Thank you. 331dot (talk) 10:31, 15 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

Your recent editing history at Shin Hye-sun shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war; read about how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. 331dot (talk) 10:34, 15 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
