Fair use rationale for Image:Chef Rock 2007.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Chef Rock 2007.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:Chef Rock.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI 19:58, 15 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Please do not modify deletion tags

re:Austin cookins and Timbaland

I'm not exactly sure what you mean by "the pages that I deleted have been restored". Which pages did you delete? The two articles you mentioned have been nominated for deletion... the template at the top of the page contains a link to a separate page where editors can comment on the article.

If there is an article that you want kept, then the article subject needs to be notable and also contain reliable sources (which you probably know). Articles can be recreated after deletion - like for example if Austin Cookins eventually releases an album then I'm sure the article would come back. - eo (talk) 20:54, 24 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

austin/Timbaland

edit

I guess I am trying to understand as to when I delete information and note that the reason of the deletion is that there aren't any sources to cited, why do people keep restoring uncited information.

The examples that I gave (austin cookins and Timbaland) had information that was not sourced. When I deleted the information that was not sourced, a day or two later it was reversed (by you and others) i just want to know what to do when unsourced information keeps being restored.

thx

Well, as this is a Wiki, any article can be mercilessly edited by anyone which unfortunately leads to a lot of additions with no sources. People put unsourced material into articles all the time, and that is why it is important for the community to keep tabs on certain articles. For the record, I am with you on unsourced information - and please feel free to add your comments to the proposed-deletion discussions! - eo (talk) 14:08, 25 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion of Rahman "Rock" Harper

edit

A tag has been placed on Rahman "Rock" Harper requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. padillaH (review me)(help me) 18:16, 10 July 2008 (UTC)
