William Alfred Weber

edit

The article William Alfred Weber has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources which verify their content. If you can provide more information about this subject, you are free to re-create the article, making sure to cite any verifiable sources.

Disambiguation

edit

Creating a disambiguation page is not too complicated, don't worry. You're nearly there. What to do depends on whether one of your David Richardsons is a lot more well-known than the others.

  • If nearly everyone searching for "David Richardson" is looking for the cricket player, then you should create a page called David Richardson (disambiguation) and put in the list that you left on my talk page. Add the tag {{otherpersons}} at the top of the article about the cricket player.
  • If none of the David Richardsons stands out as more well-known than the others, then you should
  1. Move David Richardson to David Richardson (cricket player) using the "move" tab at the top of the screen (not copying and pasting). More information on doing this is at Help:Moving a page.
  2. Create a new page called David Richardson, and make that the disambiguation page.

Hope this helps! Regards, FreplySpang 16:42, 3 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

plants of Soldiers Delight

edit

If asked to choose the article here among the tens of thousands of articles on wikipedia that I liked the most (not including some that I authored myself) it would have to be the list of wildflowers at Soldiers Delight -- so much so that I attempted to write a 'parent' article for that and the other lists of flora there to prevent template pasters from -- well, from pasting templates on them.

It has been pointed out to me that the DNR mentioned flora there didn't actually link well with the regular wikipedia articles scrub pine (at the time of this writing redirects to Virginia Pine) is an example of a not so good redirection and the DNR article said something about cedar which is probably also the scrub pine the same articles list included.

The 'parent' article Soldiers Delight needs some of the DNR paste cleaned up and it would be nice if some one who knew what is actually there could clean it.

Meanwhile, I have been expanding the links on the wildflower article from genus to species and attempting to clean up that article and the images for the species at the commons where the majority of the wiki images are -- and it has been a pleasure to do this for such a fine article (list).

Thank you! -- carol (talk) 00:21, 11 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion of Image:Quercus velutina (EU).jpg

edit

A tag has been placed on Image:Quercus velutina (EU).jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section I1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is a redundant copy (all pixels the same or scaled down) of an image in the same file format, which is on Wikipedia (not on Commons), and all inward links have been updated.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on [[ Talk:Image:Quercus velutina (EU).jpg|the talk page]] explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
