Godey's

edit

Can you confirm that what you have added at the Godey's Lady's Book page is directly quoted? I'm concerned about the following:

Art historian Karal Ann Marling called it; 'the first influential American Christmas tree'.[14] Folk-cutural historian Alfred Shoemaker states; 'in all of America there was no more important medium in spreading the Christmas tree in the decade 1850-60 than Godey's Lady's Book'.

The first quote is calling a picture an influential tree. The second quote does not italicize the magazine title (and, in a previous version, did not capitalize it properly either).

While we're at it, please make sure you clean up your writing before you click save. Neither of these quotes is properly incorporated by the Wikipedia Manual of Style, or even the English language. There is also one typo in there ("cutural"). It saves a lot of clean-up work for others if you're a tad more careful. --Midnightdreary (talk) 00:06, 4 November 2009 (UTC)Reply
