COI edit

When contributing, editors should disclose conflicts of interest upfront, paid or not paid notwithstanding. Now, there are all kinds of different ways things can turn out. CurryCity (talk) 08:21, 22 September 2023 (UTC)Reply

If a paid contributor turns to prohibited behavior such as WP:SOCKing, and gets caught, does the paid contributor owe anyone a refund? Basically, I don't know how that would work in China. Any insight, East West AOT? JFHJr () 22:42, 22 September 2023 (UTC)Reply
It would take a hospital bill not just a refund to fix "shooting" yourself in the face multiple times, if that's what this really is. CurryCity (talk) 08:30, 23 September 2023 (UTC)Reply
I don't think we should jump to conclusions about the exact relationship, identity, or national origin beyond what is supported by the findings. At the same time, BLP subjects should not expect Wikipedia, despite all its policies, to be perfectly accurate or objective all the time. Many BLP and controversial articles have some sort of issue or another. A few good points were raised about the biography, but now it would be difficult to be seen as neutral. Blocked as a sockpuppet edit

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for abusing multiple accounts as a sockpuppet of User:Poeticoda per the evidence presented at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Dpkpdr. Request reason:

Hello. As I've disclosed here, my name is Angie and I'm an employee of East West Bank. I see that all of the accounts mentioned in the sockpuppet investigation have been blocked. I understand why the decision was made to block all accounts involved, however, I am disappointed to see that my account was included in the block. I am appealing a block on my account because I was not involved in any sockpuppetry, in fact I created this account to acknowledge that it happened and try to set a better course. On the investigation page, I confirmed that more than one employee created accounts in an attempt to address problematic text within the Dominic Ng article. After learning of what happened on Dominic Ng's Talk page, my intention was to create a legitimate account and disclose my conflict of interest in full compliance with the site's Terms of Use, in order to be the company's official and sole representative on Wikipedia. I will also reiterate that I've asked others at the company for an immediate stop to any activity on Wikipedia. Because problematic text still exists within the article, I am asking for the ability to post edit requests on Talk pages for others to review. Even if I only had restricted access to Talk:Dominic Ng and Talk:East West Bank, I would like to be able to use Template:Edit COI to flag biased text and suggest other article improvements. I won't edit articles directly, and I will only ask for other editors to review my COI requests. Is this a possible solution for constructive collaboration moving forward? With a commitment to following Wikipedia's rules, thanks for your consideration. East West AOT (talk) 02:35, 13 October 2023 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

What you are describing is sockpuppetry.   Confirmed sockpuppetry in any case. Yamla (talk) 10:31, 13 October 2023 (UTC)Reply
