- Please bear these points in mind while editing Wikipedia
- Respect copyrights – do not copy and paste text or images directly from other websites.
- Maintain a neutral point of view – this is one of Wikipedia's core policies.
- Take particular care while adding biographical material about a living person to any Wikipedia page and follow Wikipedia's Biography of Living Persons policy. Particularly, controversial and negative statements should be referenced with multiple reliable sources.
- No edit warring or sock puppetry.
- If you are testing, please use the Sandbox to do so.
- Do not add troublesome content to any article, such as: copyrighted text, libel, advertising or promotional messages, and text that is not related to an article's subject. Deliberately adding such content or otherwise editing articles maliciously is considered vandalism; doing so will result in your account or IP being blocked from editing.
- Do not use talk pages as discussion or forum pages as Wikipedia is not a forum.
The Wikipedia tutorial is a good place to start learning about Wikipedia. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and discussion pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~ (the software will replace them with your signature and the date). Again, welcome! editHi... I noticed the edits that you made to the Ann Smith Franklin article. It appears that the text that you added was copied from from another source. This is against Wikipedia policy and your edits may soon be removed. It is perfectly alright to add the content, but you must rewrite the material in your own words and cite the source. Please have a look at this page about copy/pasting. If you have any problems or questions, please feel free to let me know! :) Wikipelli Talk 10:46, 1 March 2012 (UTC)
The preservation of the means of knowledge among the lowest ranks is of more importance to the public than all the property of all the rich men in the country. (john adams)

Wiki has always been my go to source for info on any subject. Being a contributor has always been on my to do list. But after making my first attempt at making a small edit, i realized how much I and many others take this information for granted. It is thanks to people like you who take the time to educate any one with desire to contribute. I made a mistake, which i assume is normal when users start out. But instead of just saying (incorrect format) you a fellow user took time to make me aware of what my mistake was, pointed me in the direction of numerous resources to learn the proper way of doing things, and put a sincere personal touch to the message by letting me know that you welcome any questions directed to you personally. Here's to the death oh apathy! ECduval (talk) 11:05, 1 March 2012 (UTC) |
