Hi! edit

Hey Jason, it's so nice to meet you. I'm doing well, how about yourself? It's great that you're excited to learn about the other end of Wikipedia. I'm looking forward to helping you out! Let me know if there's anything you need. Best, Keilana|Parlez ici 23:48, 11 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

I'm doing good, thanks! I just noticed the 'edit' link for each section, so I thought I'd try it out.Dugalmaguire (talk) 16:01, 12 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

Hi pardner edit

Hi Jason, thanks for posting. Hope this semester is going well for you. I'm a rookie when it comes to Wiki as well, except when I'm looking up information. Usually, I get curious about historical stuff that I see in a movie or that I read about, and end up getting a quick "hit" of information on Wikipedia. Recently I watched one of the 30 for 30 sports documentaries on ESPN and found some interesting tidbits about the murder of a high school basketball star that was the #1 recruit in the nation. Some basketball experts said he was one of the best players they had ever seen; it's interesting (and sad) to wonder what might have been. Looking forward to a working with you on this project! So far so good on the semester. I'm really enjoying this subject, much more so than when I was in undergraduate!Dugalmaguire (talk) 19:08, 12 February 2013 (UTC)Reply
No kidding. This really is fascinating material. Difficult, but really interesting. I'm enjoying it more now than as an undergrad, too, maybe because I'm older and have more perspective? Davidwhanks (talk) 02:18, 14 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

Help us improve the Wikipedia Education Program edit

Hi Dugalmaguire! As a student editor on Wikipedia, you have a lot of valuable experience about what it's like to edit as a part of a classroom assignment. In order to help other students like you enjoy editing while contributing positively to Wikipedia, it's extremely helpful to hear from real student editors about their challenges, successes, and support needs. Please take a few minutes to answer these questions by clicking below. (Note that the responses are posted to a public wiki page.) Thanks!

Question about non-group editing edit

{{Helpme}} What is the best way to go about handling what I think is robo-editing, or at least non-group user editing of article pages? Our Cyclic nucleotide page had the sub-headings removed by Snotbot at some point (it's on the revision page), but there was no interaction on the talk page (which makes me think it was a bot, plus the name)? I like them better now that we re-did them, but I guess this is something that can happen?

Snotbot (is a bot) and this edit is just fine. The headings were set to H1 level - which is reserved for the page title, so it changes any H1 headings it finds to H2 - if you want sub headings under those they will have to be H3... H4... etc.  Ronhjones  (Talk) 21:02, 12 April 2013 (UTC)Reply
thanks for getting back Ronhjones, that makes sense.Dugalmaguire (talk) 15:13, 13 April 2013 (UTC)Reply
