Fissured tongue is a pain edit

I'm amazed that this condition is said to be painless and cause no physical discomfort. The people who say this have obviously never experienced the condition. I have had a fissured tongue for about 8 years now, since I was about 55. It causes me constant discomfort and concern. It stings every time I have a hot drink or spirits. If I eat spicey food the stinging continues for about 15 minutes afterwards. It's just like putting lemon juice on a cut. I am inclined to believe that the root of the problem is with the digestion, and perhaps the liver. I believe it is an acquired condition, as young children rarely have a tongue like this. I am constantly searching for an answer to this extremely irritating problem. It is not normal, and it is a worry. Duffiana (talk) 10:18, 4 September 2012 (UTC)Reply
