Recipients of the Purple Heart medal edit

I will remove the warning, as I now understand what you were trying to do at this edit of Category:Recipients of the Purple Heart medal. This category is intended to provide links to organize Wikipedia articles for individuals who have been awarded the Purple Heart. While I assume that your father, Elmer Thomas Hill, did receive the medal, individuals without Wikipedia articles would not be listed here. Please contact me on my talk page if you have any further questions. Alansohn (talk) 22:46, 4 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Purple Heart category edit

Put my grandfathers name on the Purple Heart list or I will be forced to turn you in for the child pornography that you own. ALANSOHN!!!! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Douglashill530 (talkcontribs) 17:40, 5 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

A demand such as this is not helpful in the least. If there were a reliable sourced article for Elmer Thomas Hill, it would belong in this category, based on your description. Without an article, there is nothing to add to the category in question. Alansohn (talk) 17:47, 5 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Elmer Thomas Hill edit

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Elmer Thomas Hill, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

Fails WP:BIO

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. tedder (talk) 18:26, 5 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Your additions of your grandfather edit

Hi- while I understand wanting to have your grandfather added to the list of notable recipients of the Purple Heart, and you've spent some effort to add him to Wikipedia, it's important to meet the guidelines for notability. Wikipedia isn't designed to be a collection of all names, or of random facts, nor is it a memorial site. tedder (talk) 18:31, 5 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

contested PROD edit

Hi- you contested the "proposed deletion" tag on your grandfather's wiki entry. Make sure to give the reasons why he is notable on the talk page. tedder (talk) 17:06, 6 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

AfD Nomination: Elmer Thomas Hill edit

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! We welcome and appreciate your contributions, but all Wikipedia articles must meet our criteria for inclusion (see What Wikipedia is not and Deletion policy). Since it does not seem that Elmer Thomas Hill meets these criteria, an editor has started a discussion about whether this article should be kept or deleted.

Your opinion on whether this article meets the inclusion criteria is welcome. Please contribute to the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Elmer Thomas Hill. Don't forget to add four tildes (~~~~) at the end of each of your comments to sign them.

Discussions such as these usually last five days. In the meantime, you are free to edit the content of the article. Please do not remove the "articles for deletion" template (the box at the top). When the discussion has concluded, a neutral third party will consider all comments and decide whether or not to delete the article. Nick-D (talk) 10:29, 7 March 2009 (UTC)Reply
