December 2019 edit

Hello. Your recent edit to Comparison of EDA software appears to have added the name of a non-notable entity to a list that normally includes only notable entries. In general, a person, organization or product added to a list should have a pre-existing article before being added to most lists. If you wish to create such an article, please first confirm that the subject qualifies for a separate, stand-alone article according to Wikipedia's notability guideline. See also WP:COI, in case it applies. GermanJoe (talk) 21:32, 8 December 2019 (UTC)Reply

Answer to GermanJoe on Notabily of LibrePCB edit

Hi Joe,

LibrePCB is a powerful EDA that includes all needed tools to design a professional multi layer board (just placement file export is missing but I think it will be done soon). I have just used it to design a 4 layer board and a 2 layer board and it is clear that this software has its place in the list.

It has been highlighted by some independent well-known third party :

According to this, are you agree that LibrePCB is notable ?

If you're OK, I will start a page for LibrePCB.

Hello Doom*, all good-faith contributions are welcome, but the topic must meet Wikipedia's criteria for "notability" as described in WP:GNG (and several other additional guidelines). In short: articles must be based on multiple independent, reliable sources. "Independent" in this context means that self-published sources, but also press releases, promotional articles and most interviews, generally do not count towards assessing notability. "Independent" sources have to be written and published by uninvolved reputed experts. Please make sure to read through WP:GNG - if you can provide such sources, you are welcome to create a draft (WP:Your first article might also be helpful with a lot of tips and advice) and submit it for review. Hope this helps a bit. Best regards. GermanJoe (talk) 06:31, 9 December 2019 (UTC)Reply
