License tagging for Image:Jigsaw in Japan.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Jigsaw in Japan.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 10:06, 24 October 2007 (UTC)

Clarifying copyrights on Wikipedia

edit

Maybe you are the director of Splash Records. Maybe you aren't. We have no way to know for sure, so we generally play it safe. However, if you really own the copyright of that image, you can use the Requesting copyright permission procedure to relicense your work. Hope that helps!  Ksero 09:41, 26 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hmmm... wait... Now I see... the problem is that you put your license in the comment field when uploading. Hang on... — Ksero 09:43, 26 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Welcome to Wikipedia, Des! Sky High is one of my all time favorites, so I was glad to see your name pop up. Have you heard the Vandalias' cover? They did a really nice job of updating it in a modern-day power pop style while remaining true to the original. Oh, I played keys on a friend's band's cover of Who Do You Think You Are (another one I've always loved but didn't realize until recently that it was one of yours) for an indie film soundtrack a few years back. These songs are as great today as they were back in the day! The compilation on the Taragon label is outstanding. I'll try to help you through your image issues over at the Media copyright questions page, but if you need any other help while you're here, feel free to drop me a message at my user talk page. Cheers! -- But|seriously|folks  00:33, 29 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Calliopejen1 is right. Please send an email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org identifying yourself and explaining that Image:Jigsaw in Japan.jpg was taken by an employee specifically for your company, and that your company owns the rights to the photo. Within a couple of weeks, one of the volunteers from the OTRS staff should leave a template on the image's talk page confirming that you have authority to donate that image here. By the way, I hear silver outfits with big red puzzle pieces are coming back in style!  ;-) -- But|seriously|folks  00:43, 29 October 2007 (UTC)Reply
