Vector 2022 comments edit

Hi DerpFiox, I reverted your edits to [[Wikipedia:Requests for comment/Deployment of Vector (2022)) because that discussion is close but you are welcome to add your comments to Wikipedia:Village pump (technical)#Vector 2022 deployment update. Please note, there is likely a better place but I am not sure where but at least that will get some attention. S0091 (talk) 23:23, 15 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

Sorry, I didn't know it was closed.
Thank you so much for the pointer, I posted there just in case.
Honestly, as a reader, Wikipedia "social" pages are a hell to navigate and understand how they work. DerpFox (talk) 23:52, 15 January 2023 (UTC)Reply
Agreed! See Talk pages for at least a little bit of guidance. S0091 (talk) 00:13, 16 January 2023 (UTC)Reply
Hey @DerpFox, just read over your comment on the RfC. It seems like maybe it's too late to have a productive conversation about Vector 2022 (considering how much you "HATE" it ; ), but I will try anyhow.
Can you start by helping me understand what you don't like about the skin? Or, if you'd prefer, link me to your previous comment(s) where you have explained specific issues you have with it? I apologize for not knowing where those comments might be — believe it or not but we've interacted with ~1,932 community members over the past few years of working on the project, so it's difficult to keep track of each conversation.
Also, I can assure you that there is no executive at the Wikimedia Foundation forcing anything on anyone. The simple truth is that over the past ~3 years of developing this skin we've gotten far more positive feedback (from editors, readers, and research study participants) than negative feedback. The people who dislike the skin are of course much louder, and post much more often, which can easily skew the impression of how people in general feel. Additionally, the data is all very positive. People are searching much more, using the table of contents more, and generally engaging more deeply with all of the knowledge on Wikipedia.

Hi, thank you for reaching out. I'll give you a more in-depth answer by the end of the week after work. DerpFox (talk) 19:59, 17 January 2023 (UTC)Reply
