re:comments on my talk page

I would put it on one of the pages found in Category:Auburn University. Looking through them, there isn't an article that stands out as the perfect place, but it could go in the Tradition section of Auburn Tigers. This section is actually a duplication of the Tradition section also found on Auburn Tigers football, so the cheer could possibly find a place there as well. Auburn University Marching Band

Well, IANAL, but based on my understanding, you would retain the copyright on the images and you would be considered to have granted or given the band a license for use of the images. One other way I've heard of universities taking advantage of the WFH doctrine is asserting IP rights over the product of student classroom assignments, but only rarely and with regard to inventions having a considerable financial potential. As an unpaid volunteer and with no extra benefits, I don't see how the WFH doctrine would apply to you. Btw, I didn't join the AUMB because I was a bit burnt out from my HS marching experience not to mention I started in Architecture (big time commitment, although another guy in my first-year AR class did march). AUMB picture copyright

The RATsite logo is copyright Matthew Livaudais, who did the art for the RAT website. The photo of the Drum Majors is copyright Allison Helms, who happened to have a camera on her that day. :-P

I can ask Allison if she minds if her picture is released into the public domain. As for the RATsite logo, that probably doesn't need to be in the public domain, since it represents AUMB in an official capacity... AUMB uniforms

Easiest solution would be to take a picture ourselves and release it into the public domain, I think. I don't know if all the uniform combinations will be used, though (I'm thinking orange coat and blue pants... not sure how that'd look), so we should wait and get official word on that. Although surely the band will want a press picture of our new uniforms? You'd really know more about this than I. As for final numbers, we should wait a couple weeks, then ask Dr. Spurlin what number the band is using as its official count. I'm sure there might be people who aren't registered for the course who are counted as marchers, for whatever reason. We'll see.--StebenXC 00:08, 17 August 2007 (UTC)

I don't think that any image of the new uniform can be released into public domain. I would assume that any image of any member of the band for official reasons would be copyright by the band. We can still take the picture ourselves, but put a copyright tag on the image once it is loaded on to wikipedia (or wikimedia). I agree with you that not all combos will be used. For example, I will suprised if they do orange jacket with white pants like they did for uniform fitting. There might be blue on them, but it still reminds me of UT. I would assume that we might use orange jacket/blue pants and blue jacket/white or blue pants. As for the press picture and final numbers, these might be included in the AUMB press info booklet distributed in the press box before each game. For instance, last year we only had 372 total. We should be able to just ask to see one of the booklets for the first game to see what it has. Dennibr 12:33, 17 August 2007 (UTC)
