February 2011 edit

Do not delete vandalism templates that other users have posted. They are there to let other users know that you have been vandalising and to help them decide what level of warning to give you should you choose to vandalise again (which I hope you will not). Please read them and listen to the advice of other editors. AndrewvdBK (talk) 19:05, 16 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

Actually that's not correct - users are allowed to edit their own talk pages (including blanking them), with only a very few specific exceptions. See WP:BLANKING for details.
Detichb, remember not to give out your Wikipedia password to anyone else, and remember to Log Out when you're not in front of the computer, and remember not to add silly comments to Wikipedia pages :) I am glad there haven't been any problems since last December. --Demiurge1000 (talk) 23:55, 27 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

Ochlocracy - examples edit

Here's some suggestions about the choice of example for Ochlocracy in the Civics article.

Currently, you have The Mafia as an example. However, is the Mafia really mob rule? A mindless crowd? If you take a look at the diagram Mafia#Clan_hierarchy you will see there is a "boss" at the top, and then a set hierarchy (a set of rules showing who is in charge of who) down to the "associates" at the bottom.

This diagram is based on evidence that a real Sicilian Mafia guy gave to a court, but it certainly shows that some (perhaps all) Mafia organizations have their own power structure (hierarchy) and are therefore not good examples of mob rule.

The Wikipedia article Ochlocracy is a bit of a mess and rather difficult to read. But it does give two rather interesting examples of situations described as "mob rule" - the Salem Witch Trials and lynching. Would one, or both, of these be better examples of ochlocracy? --Demiurge1000 (talk) 00:58, 28 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

How to improve the link to Napoleon I edit

The link to Napoleon I is a good one to add.

But, you've used a link like this: [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Napoleon_I Napoleon] This shows up as an external link Napoleon.

You need to use a link like this: [[Napoleon I|Napoleon]]. This would show up as a wikilink Napoleon. See if you can get that to work. --Demiurge1000 (talk) 02:03, 28 February 2011 (UTC)Reply
