C Sharp edit

I'm just wondering if you really think that it needs a citation(considering the change is relatively minor), Abstract methods, partial classes and variables that are derived from static variables can allow for the properties of a subclass to be altered.

I avoid virtual methods at all costs and its not something that is required Mr Isaac.G (talk) 11:20, 4 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

Hello there. WP:V states that all information must be verifiable, and doesn't set a bar on how major or minor. (Even though the change is only one word, I personally would think of it as major, as it substantially alters the meaning). I did check Microsoft's Documentation, which corroborates the claim as it was before you edited it, so I chose to revert it.
Even if it what you are saying is true, please don't add it to Wikipedia unless it is backed by a reliable source. However, if you find an reliable source that corroborate your claim, feel free to edit it in! deadwikipedian (talk) 11:37, 4 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

I just mentioned abstract and double declaring as a method for accessing properties in a subclass as to override a function, you are not obligated to use virtual methods, hence why abstract methods were created, in case the former is for some reason, erroneous or pragmatic.

I didn't come here to argue symantics, I merely updated the information to what is correct (and one search through any search engine would show what I am saying to be correct). The fact that the article showing misinformation like this is stupendous. How is anyone supposed to learn anything if people revert the articles (or don't use citations) However one word changed to correct information and you revert?

I dont use Wikipedia for this exact reason

re: DONOTREVERT: Sorry. I use an automated tool (WP:TW) while monitoring changes, and it's just easier to click revert than manually change the page.
Please do edit the changes in if you can find the sources! As I indicated in my earlier post, I reverted it only because I found sources backing the claim that you had to use virtual.
Unfortunately, the rules do mean that misinformation can persist (or even be exacerbated due to citogenesis), but they exist by and large to prevent unverified claims in the encyclopedia.
