Assignment 2
editHow about: Trichoderma longibrachiatum is an exclusively anamorph species complex allied with the Hypocrea schweinitzii complex. The title of your table should indicate that these are siblings species within the Trichoderma longibrachiatum complex (are they?). It might also be nice to include substrate if that's known, particularly for those species known from remarkable substrates. You should probably pull out and cite the original Rifai monograph (it is great). I'm also curious if there's anything about the species in this book: ISBN 9780444595768. Looks good so far. editHey Dbar22, good job on the assignment so far! To add a wikilink, you need to put the word of interest between double brackets "[[ ]]" (I'm talking about the word "fungus" and "Trichoderma" in your introductory paragraph). As well, your citations need to be after the period, not before. (You did this near the end, but not in the section "Taxonomy and naming"). Also, genus and species name need to be italicized (I'm specifically referring to the word "Trachoderma" in the first paragraph). Also, if Hypocrea schweinitzii is a species, it needs to be italicized. In the section "description", I think you meant to say "...parasite toward other fungi" (not too sure). Also, the last sentence in your description was a little hard to follow. It might be a good idea to split it up into two sentences. Aside from these minor things, i'd say it looks great! It's clear and easy to follow.Elyriz (talk) 02:57, 29 October 2014 (UTC)
- How about, instead of this "T. longibrachiatum is a saprotroph to dead plant material and parasite toward over fungi", something like this: "Trichoderma longibrachiatum is found commonly on decaying plant material where its ecological role ranges from that of a strict saprotroph to a parasite of other saprotrophic fungi." It might be worthwhile exploring the type of parasitism - there are papers on this, because this fungus and its close relatives have been investigated as agents of biological control of plant disease-causing fungi. Assignment 3-Peer review
editHi Dbar22, Great work on your article. I like the table you created in distribution and habitat section, it is easy to read this way! I just have some minor suggestions. For the title for last section, I think the word you are looking for is Therapeutic uses and Industrial uses? Also, I think it would be a good idea to have a section to explain the similarity and differences between the 21 different species. I am looking forward to see your final article! Good luck!
