Tom Welling

edit

At 23:50 on 20 June you did this edit: [1]. It was an attempt to create a gallery by inserting the following:

<gallery> Image:bu.jpg|Caption1 Image:buu.jpg|Caption2 </gallery>

This attempt was unsuccessful because of the failure to create a line break after </gallery>. I reverted it as an experiment.

Two minutes later, at 23:52, User: Nosoyyo created a new user account. One minute later, at 23:53, this new user then reverted my edit to yours (calling for the same two images you did), only Nosoyyo inserted the line break and thereby properly formatted the gallery. [2] I reverted it again.

Then at 23:57-58 Nosoyyo uploaded one of the two images identified in the gallery in both your and his edits, File:Buu.jpg, and also added File:Bupe.jpg (in contrast to your Image:bu.jpg, which Nosoyyo also had first called for, and which apparently did not exist). See [3] These two images consisted of improperly uploaded, pornographic (and likely faked) images of the article’s subject, without any claim of fair or permissive use. At 23:59 Nosoyyo edited the Welling page again by inserting the gallery,[4] and as the images had now been correctly (although illegally) uploaded, the gallery appeared in the Welling article with those pornographic images. The page was reverted to delete it, but Nosoyyo reverted back.

The article was restored to the pre-vandalized version, and the images have been deleted. Nosoyyo has been banned. It appears however that the edits were first made by you in an attempt to create a gallery with these images; that after the first reversion Nosoyyo registered and immediately made the same edit (fixing the format), then created the images and restored the gallery with the inappropriate images now present on the article page.

Can you tell us what went on here? Kablammo 00:55, 21 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:Midnight For Charlie Bone(U.K.).jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. License tagging for Image:Tgc.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Tgc.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:
