There is a legitimate question concerning the subject's notability. See this link Wikipedia:Notability_(people)#Politicians for the general requirements. Please do not remove the notability template again without addressing the issue in some fashion - if not by editing the article to demonstrate notability, then at least on the article's Talk page. I understand where you're coming from, Mr. Belliveau. I'm sure Ms. Tusz-King is a wonderful human being who has accomplished a lot of stuff in her life. However, while she may be a political candidate for MLA, she is not, according to Wikipedia standards, she is not notable enough for this website. As I'm sure you've noticed from the New Brunswick general election, 2010 article, there are a lot of candidates who do not have their own article, however interesting their lives may be. If she wins in Tantramar, then by all means we can add her article again, but until that point, she is not notable enough for this website, unfortunately. Information on Political Candidates edit
I find it unusual that the creation of a page for a political candidate would cause such interest. The standard answer to most questions that people have, but can't readily find and answer to is to "Look it up on Wiki."
What's great is the timeliness of many articles. Instead of waiting a year to get year old information included in the old paper encyclopedias, interesting information that people are seeking for events that are happening right now may have some description on its own wiki page.
Even though someone from California or Australia may not care or ever care about the candidates in a New Brunswick provincial election, that doesn't mean there aren't a significant number of people who might consider finding information on the candidates by looking for their wiki page.
Once a person has decided to become a candidate, it almost seems natural that their lives are no longer private, and that information about them should be available publicly so the democratic process can proceed with the maximum amount of information available. Whether it's a local town council, or a provincial election or an election for the Governor of New York, there should be an opening to allow information on all the candidates to be visible to wikipedia users.
In this case, 7,000 people who vote in the Tantramar district will only be able to find limited information about the incumbent candidate, according to the suggested policy for notability of politicians. They'll just be able to see the names of the challengers and nothing else. This seems to be a limitation imposed on wikipedia by people who just don't care for politicians...which is sometimes understandable.Davidbelliveau (talk) 21:30, 17 September 2010 (UTC)
