State University of New York at New Paltz edit

If you make major changes, you should discuss them and your reasoning at Talk:State University of New York at New Paltz. Bearian (talk) 18:58, 23 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hey, I thought I did. Go look at your talk page for more... DavidHobby (talk) 15:09, 3 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

O.K., I can do that. I'll take a look and revert if needed. P.S., I'm class of 1986. Bearian (talk) 15:13, 3 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
I'll leave it as is. I see where you discussed it, further up the talk page. No problem. Thanks for the follow up. Bearian (talk) 15:15, 3 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Groupoid vs. magma edit

I think the argument that emphasising the hatnote on groupoid is necessary because magma (algebra) uses "magma" and "groupoid" interchangeably is valid. However, I've instead made a note of the fact in the first sentence of magma (algebra). What do you think? —Anonymous DissidentTalk 05:31, 10 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

  • Should the table in the article magma (algebra) replace Category by Small category? A category is not an algebraic structure, because it's not a set - else we can easily run into paradoxes. Albmont (talk) 12:14, 29 December 2009 (UTC)Reply
    • Talk pages are useless - nobody reads them. But the table should not have wrong data! Albmont (talk) 18:07, 29 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Before the troll deletes it too edit

Remind me to change (the broken link in Brightness Reef to a now extinct web site by a monomaniacal fan) for a quote from GURPS Uplift. Albmont (talk) 17:45, 6 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

New Paltz alma mater edit

You've identified yourself as a professor at SUNY New Paltz, so I wonder if you know the copyright status of the alma mater? I know these songs are often in the public domain, but I didn't find a date with my cursory check, and I wonder about the entire lyrics being included in the college's article if it's not. Thanks for any help you might offer.--otherlleft 06:56, 4 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

  • Sorry, no idea. If the College does have copyright on it, they sure don't seem to be protecting it. For instance, the link in reference 20 goes to the words on the College's site, and there's no copyright notice there. DavidHobby (talk) 04:47, 5 February 2010 (UTC)Reply
  • Sorry for losing track of this thread (and getting a name change in the interim). I have to pop over to the Haggerty building today, so I will inquire about this. (And yes, I think it is entirely possible that we've met in the real world.)--~TPW 18:21, 15 June 2010 (UTC)Reply
  • Hello again, I spoke with the chief of staff who likewise didn't have an answer. She promised to get back to me. Cheers!--~TPW 00:20, 16 June 2010 (UTC)Reply
"chief of staff"? That's not really a standard college title, is it? DavidHobby (talk) 03:47, 17 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Rule 34 (novel) edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Rule 34 (novel) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, a rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion," which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate). Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. ~~EBE123~~ talkContribs 13:26, 23 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

Disambiguation link notification for August 30 edit

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited State University of New York at New Paltz, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Sierra (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Revert only when necessary edit

I noticed that you reverted my edit on Rule 34. Please note WP:ROWN: reverting drives away editors. Nobody likes having their contribution negated. ENeville (talk) 16:27, 4 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

I've commented further at Talk:Rule_34#Entry_descriptions. ENeville (talk) 17:07, 4 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

Making History (Novel) edit

Hi. Noticed you have undone my change to your entry on Stephen Fry's novel Making History. I changed your original entry because there's nowhere in the novel that Stephen Fry says that Michael is gay so I felt that for the article to say would be inaccurate. In fact, Stephen Fry doesn't say anything about Michael's sexuality so even to say that Michael is bisexual wouldn't be accurate, so I thought it best to change the article so that his sexuality isn't referred to.
